Someone already mentioned the "slasher smile" mermaid on the Ten of Water, but did anyone else notice that the angel on the Lovers card looks like he's wearing "evil clown" makeup? (It's Raphael's "Joker face" I guess.) But, those are more unintentional creepiness than actual creepiness, I guess. |

How about a mega poster sunshade or kitchen backsplash
If this were tile, my bathroom would be angelized. The colors remind me of fiestaware, very tropical. The cards under glass on a tabletop--hmmm... Quote:

My Angel Tarot deck has arrived - excitingly way ahead of schedule. Presentation and packaging are brilliant. There's a lot in these areas that many Tarot deck producers could learn from. The sentences at the foot of each card don't bother me, because a querent sitting opposite would need exceptional eyesight to read them upside down. But, for me, the artwork on the cards is very disappointing. Inconsistent, repetitive in part, and I think the faces would be better if they were nobody in particular instead of somebody in particular. The artwork is unexciting, almost uninteresting when the actual cards are in my hand. Clearly I'd expected too much for US$11.53 from this deck. I was going to gift my Magical Unicorns Oracle deck away when Angel Tarot arrived, but I won't be doing that now. *Z* __________________ 'Qui le Destin par trop fouille S'embrouille; Qui le consulte trop bien N'a rien.' - Quote from Madame Zezina, cartomancienne française, 1959 |

Finally I got my copy too. I am sort of disappointed that it is nothing more and nothing less than a nicely crafted oracle deck that comes in the shape of a tarot. The whole look and feel, the way the LWB is written, the keyword blurb, and of course the renamed majors (Ego for YouKnowWho and Release for YouKnowWhat in paticular) are enough that I just can't see it as tarot. But apart from that it has nothing that would actually annoy me. There is no in-your-face claim of gentleness and safeness of the kind "use our cards, they are gentle, they will only predict gentle things, you will be fine". The artwork is nice and consistent. Well, the angel's lips in the Lovers card look silly indeed (for example), but that's nothing serious. The whole thing looks almost boring, thinking of all the discussions about it before it came out. I would have liked it to be either an interesting tarot deck with a new take on a couple of things or to be really upsetting, inconsistent, evil (like promising 100% safetyness which would really have made me angry), and all the stuff that gives us more opportunities to talk about. Sure it will sell, but should that nice but slightly low profile deck really have the power to shatter the tarot world? |

As I recall (Mine is in the UK and I am not so we have yet to meet...) I saw one in a store and I thought the back of the box said pretty much exactly that. It is also interesting that Radleigh Valentine is after all not actually the artist, as far as I could see. (NOT a criticism as such, but I was looking forward to his work, based on his website - and it isn't his at all.) __________________ ~ ~ I probably shouldn't be here. But the LWB is more about general fluffy insignificant "always look on the bright side of life" stuff, like oracle stuff uses to be, me thinks. Nothing wrong with that, just not my cup of tea. |

The new stock arrived in store and I was very pleased to see Doreen Virtue's Angel Tarot arrive in store for the shelf... I opened it did several readings for myself over several topics and Got a real kick in the butt..... a few friends arrived in store so did readings for them using the deck... OMG Hard butt kicking... pulled no punches with the words etc.... so did a couple of readings for clients WOW WOW WOW fantastic....... No that soft had all...yes the images are a bit softer, not so harsh with The Devil, The Tower, three of air....etc.....but this is my deck now to use with clients..... I think it really depends on how you read it...... I LOVE IT>>>>>>>> __________________ Namaste..... Live life as there is no tomorrow....... Vesta |

wow, Rev Vesta, it is good to hear that it is a readable deck. I do have it (gregory got me to get it) and while I have looked at the cards, I haven't tried reading. Okay, with a post like yours, I'll give them a chance! __________________ Either the Darkness alters, or something in the sight Adjusts itself to Midnight, And Life steps almost straight. ~ Emily Dickinson |

I got her to buy it mostly so that I could look at it. She never showed it to me....
