I'm laughing here because ratings and comments have been disabled for that youtube vid (she doesn't want any negative feedback). Pleasant enough fantasy art but nothing of any depth symbolically as far as I can see. "Friendly, happy dragons" for the fire element - sorry but fire, like all the elements cannot be seen as friendly and happy only. Even a lit match can cause a lasting scar let alone a forest fire! I guess as long as you fully understand that the author is simply selling a pretty product aimed at a 'safe and gentle' non discerning market and don't expect any kind of personal integrity then go for it if the images appeal to you. |

I don't see why people should apologise for buying this deck. I'm not a fan of D.V or her decks but the fact that they sell so well means that people like them. If you like fluffy and positive go for it. I don't see why someone should have to justify what they buy. That being said it does seem like another money marketing ploy. I'm not fond of this "Safe and Gentle" marketing approach to tarot. But I just ordered the deck after watching her video. Hoping to get it After this week I'm looking forward to a new deck.

I cannot take this deck seriously. Dear lord, it's not tarot!! I have DV oracle decks and they had their place and time in my life. I can't believe they sell so well, because I'm having a hard time selling mine. There are 2 I would keep, but the rest..........!!! __________________ I probably shouldn't be here. I think her target audience is those who already have her Angel Oracle cards and are looking to expand their collection and explore the Tarot field. And then there are those who will buy simply because it's her latest deck. As for Doreen....how many different angel oracle cards can she create so the need to tap into the tarot community. And what's sad is those who may purchase this deck and then go on to buy a "normal" tarot deck....that should be a real suprise. The deck really doesn't look that bad and like all her decks I'm sure will sell....but I think they do a dis-service to tarot cards. I do hope those who purchase these cards will share their experiences as far as readings go. |

I'm betting Angels won't be Virtue's last Tarot deck. Once there, she surely won't be able to go back to Oracles. Very interesting that in the blurb on the website, Virtue (or the team of marketing experts sitting around her desk) left the word 'Dragons' off the blurb. Dragons are fire, and replace the Wands deck. Maybe her Dragons do get a little fiery? Maybe her marketers decided that dragons might frighten off some buyers? And I'll swear that the Archangel in Major Arcana XII was falling upside down. Must have been a naughty boy? Curiosity and a very low price of $US11.53 from Amazon have sold this deck to me. __________________ 'Qui le Destin par trop fouille S'embrouille; Qui le consulte trop bien N'a rien.' - Quote from Madame Zezina, cartomancienne française, 1959 Last edited by Zezina; 24-04-2012 at 06:41. |

I read somewhere that Doreen Virtue created her name. Obviously Radleigh Valentine created his name too. Rad is 'a student' of Doreen, and Doreen's dog is named Valentine. http://psychiclifeline.com/radleigh.html QED. __________________ 'Qui le Destin par trop fouille S'embrouille; Qui le consulte trop bien N'a rien.' - Quote from Madame Zezina, cartomancienne française, 1959 Last edited by Zezina; 23-04-2012 at 09:14. |

Okay, the art is reeeally pretty.... I'm so tempted to get this deck now. I mean, I don't have a 100% "safe and gentle" deck, even my Mythical Goddess isn't afraid to be a little rough and tumble, and it's just over $12 CDN on Amazon, which is a bargain, as far as I'm concerned. Hmmmmm.... |

I can't stop laughing and I'm really trying not to be a snob. But, I just can't. I suppose if you need a fluffy tarot.... I'm still not convinced it's safe OR gentle. ![]() I am not judging anyone who buys this deck. I'm sure there are good reasons to have it. I'm with Rodney. It's totally not for me. __________________ I don't believe in luck but I do subscribe to the theory of horribly inconvenient coincidences. ~Timmy Turner PDR 2009/2010 ~ Transparent Tarot 78 Weeks ~ Vargo's Gothic |
