<puzzled> Wasn't Mr Darcy in Pride and Prejudice? The P & P one was simmering with suppressed Fire - perhaps a Page Wands, then, one who didn't know how to manage his Fire. __________________ Life is a holy moment, a brief flash of sentience in the sacred abyss. |

This was a different Mr Darcy though ... played by Colin Firth in Bridget Jones Diary: http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0243155/ ![]() He has a bit of a King of Swords vibe about him |

It /can/ be negative sometimes. Like, when I personally get into King of Swords mode, I get kind of mean and brutal, sarcastic and commanding, running my household like it's a prison camp. But I also get a lot done. The King of Swords runs a tight ship, and he's fair according to his own rules. He knows what he's doing and will help you and honor you if you work smoothly in his machinery, but he will cut you down if you don't. At his most extreme, he's all business and intellect and no compassion at all. But sometimes you need compassion, and at other times you need someone to get the job finished, you know? Sometimes you get handed a bad situation where you need to mow down other people's dishonesty and wastefulness and make something stronger. Like everything else in tarot, it's a balancing act. Nobody inhabits just one card, wholly and exclusively, and nothing is either black or white. __________________ "Do I contradict myself? while at face value, the King of Swords may not seem like a romantic kind of guy, he does have some great qualities - he's experienced, dependable, he's been around the block and wise to the ways of the world. He's a fair, take charge person. He's the kind of person you can lean on, depend on, more stable than most. While he may be reserved and not a heart on his sleeve type, he is interesting and probably well-read, a good conversationalist. I think this is a good card to get in a reading - not just because it might represent a person in one's life, but because of the good qualities associated with the card. |
