dont feel sad hon you poor thing, sometimes our thoughts run away with us and take us to situations that we know we would never consider. This feeling of sadness shows you loved your pet. Oh how sad you must be feeling. __________________ thank you and may the angels be with you |

Honestly? I can totally see the love in that. Which of course depends on your beliefs about death and the proper things to do with bodies of beloved beings. But personally, I can see how that would be very respectful and loving. |

Me too. My dog would probably love it and be grinning at me from beyond, but that's because he's a cheeky bugger __________________ "Music is well said to be the speech of Angels" Thomas Carlyle |

LOL and I'll admit for me I would have to go the already butchered...cook it...remove the bones routine. I don't know without googling if there's any rabbit skeleton type kits available...something scientific for kids type thing. Also would painting/drawing the bones on runes (or something similar) be considered "reading the bones"? Just throwing some ideas out here. |

If you do acquire some bones, you can sanitize them by setting them in a bleach bath for about 5 minutes. 50/50 bleach and water. That's after the insects clean off the bones though. If there's flesh still attached that has to be removed first. I've acquired a number of bones and do this with all of them. From the possum skull found in the woods (nearly bleached white), to the deer leg/shoulder bones in the park, the raven skull at the cemetery, a raccoon skull found along the railroad tracks, etc. Nature cleans things off pretty good but a dip with the bleach water helps make them safer. Don't have any bunny bones here, or I'd offer to send you some if they could get past customs. But with the rabbit problem in Australia I'm sure you can come across some fairly easy. Do you have a local 'Craig's List' or 'Freecycle' online in your area? Put a 'wanted' posting up about it. __________________ You can give a cat a fish, and he'll eat for a day. I've once received a set of sheep's knuckle bones from a forum friend. They used to be dice, so they are really easy to work with. Here is a link where you can purchase resin replicas which could enter Australia: http://www.eastwindgames.net/index.p...product_id=146 And I have a set of Runes made from deer bone chips. I found them at a ren faire, so maybe you could look into sellers of reenactment supplies. __________________ Some are born to sweet delight, some are born to endless night... ~William Blake, Auguries of Innocence~ Screws fall out all the time.
