Excessive Majors in a spread

One of my most favored guinea pig for my Tarot study is my sister. And most often her questions are related to her workplace.

She switched over to a new job last year. Right from the first spread about whether she should take up this job offer, until now there have always been a lot of Majors in the readings I do for her. Whether the questions be of future prospects, or her professional equations with X, Y, Z colleagues...there have always been a slew of Majors in the spread. I can understand how one Major might be indicating the theme for a reading. But what could more than one, and sometimes even 3-4 out of 5 cards being Majors in a reading indicate??

To rephrase myself just a bit differently what does the presence of excessive number of Majors in a spread indicate??

Sometimes, when I see a lot of majors in a spread, I think that the seeker has a lot to learn by going through the situation. She will likely need to access the energies of those majors to move through it in the best way possible for her, and the situation will teach her a lot during the process of navigating it.

When I do a spread, the first thing I do is to look at majors / minors. If a spread has more major arcana its about big changes and big lessons. Could be big life changes which are either positive or negative depending on the spread, or a bit of both. The energies are long lasting. Its a message from the universe. Minor cards are more day to day living, more mundane. Their effects are more temporary and its a message about human nature.

I read something interesting once that a lot of major cards in a reading shows that destiny is changing your life, where as if its a lot of minors its you who needs to make changes if you want to change things. So if someone was doing a reading about a relationship they were unhappy in and it had many major arcana, its an important lesson which they are going to get through to better times. However if it had more minor arcana, the cards are advising on changes they can make in the situation.

With her job offer if the cards are more positive majors then it would be big positive changes to her life. If they were negative than the job offer should be considered more carefully. If someone constantly gets majors in their spreads, I don't know! maybe they are always having big changes in their life

I agree, the energy level of Majors seem to teach life lessons, where as the minors are day to day "happenings". Not that they are anymore important, we live from day to day, but once a lesson of the Majors is learned we move further down our spiritual path. This is my own personal opinion other opinions will vary

A lot of Majors usually means that things are important, meaning that the particular reading contains a lot of information about important things; a reading with No majors is usually considered incidental.

Not Majors - but I did once have ALL FOUR QUEENS pop up in a CC reading. Four Queens in 10 cards. It was also a 'workplace' reading and the Queens were coworkers.

I too was told something similar long back by the one who initiated me into Tarot. In his words...Majors is what the Universe has in store for you and which you cant do anything about. Just go with the flow... When my sister was about to join this new firm, the Major that came was The Fool. After joining, it has been replaced by other positive Majors...

However what actually made me ask it here is ALWAYS getting a host of Majors...somethings which has never happened with me...

In my belief, there can never be an excessive amoiunt of any kind of card. Sometimes you can get no Majors at all for a while and then some readings can be all Majors. Even a few such readings in a row. That is not excessive it is just simply the answer.

Majors, for me, just indicate an important life lesson that the querent's life is working to teach them at the time the reading is being done, related to the topic of the card.

Life is like that. We pass through phases and some periods have more mundane events in them and then we can enter a more important period....In important periods, there will naturally be mroe Majors as more things are being assimilated and learnt. If a lot of Majors come up in a reading, even all Majors, that is just the answer at that moment in time. It means that the person's life is teaching them a lot of lessons at that time.
