The Typeface Tarot - observing the cards - 22 readers wanted!
I am intrigued by the Typeface Tarot, invented by Lynda Cowles at Archer Tarot website. Enough to have printed, laminated and cut out my own to use. You can freely download the pdf of it here: http://archertarot.wordpress.com/fre...ypeface-tarot/ The experiment As a once-off, I’m looking for 21 other tarotic people to join me in claiming a trump (well, there are no pips!) and then writing up what you see in it – with no reference to anything except what you get from the word itself, its typeface and its position on the card. So if you're up for this experiment, post which trump you want, and I will keep this post amended to show who’s claimed what. You can then post your reading back here for us all to marvel at! Hopefully by 20th May – that’s because I’m an impatient kind of person and really want to read your views and admire your ingenuity! I am now going to post my own, The Hermit, as an example of what I have in mind. But it won’t be an exact science. Go with the spirit of it. If you are a member, can you also please partial-screengrab just your chosen card from your pdf download and attach it with your post? That way, others who read this thread will be able to look at what you're talking about. Who’s up for it?? Typeface Hermit
OK, I'll start us off. The Hermit I see that the hermit has removed himself to the bottom left-hand corner, away from the more obvious public space, as if wishing to be less seen. He appears to need his own space in order to “be” a hermit, a learner and a source of wisdom. In this position, he seems to be setting aside hours for thinking and meditation. But if this card were to swing on the wheel of life 180 degrees clockwise (reversed), as it surely will over the year, we would see the hermit hanging from the ceiling, close up to the wall like a bat, above the hustle and bustle – almost like a light lighting our way. On the other hand, if he swings 90 degrees further, we find him to be a very grounded individual, but distanced a little from others. The writing of his body does suggest a joined-up personality, either a slightly older one – because it’s stylised – or a younger more individualistic one – because he is using joined-up writing in an age when everyone texts, yet has done it idiosyncratically. The boldness of his appearance suggests the hermit is entirely visible to those who wish to find him, but that he is slightly hidden by the disguises inherent in his style of “dressing”. He is not, in any case, the person for all occasions. His style will suit us exactly when we most need his help or to be like him ourselves. And he will have room for us because the space around him is peaceful, refreshingly white and pure, and inviting, yet boundaried and safe. Like a hermitage. I'll grab one, don't much mind which, but can't do it until tomorrow morning. Ummm - Strength, I think, since it seems to be popping up all over the place for me! I'll do the printing thing too (actually I'm pretty sure I've already got that pdf from somewhere). __________________ When I was a child/I caught a fleeting glimpse/Out of the corner of my eye La ilaha illa Allah |

I'll join in with the Death card(my year card, this year)(more on that later). Might not happen for a couple days, though, I've got a busy day today, and a long shift day tomorrow. It'll be an interesting experiment!

I'm in with The Empress... not a card I usually resonate with all that much, but the typeface for this one intrigues me! |

I'm in love with that entire deck. I'm surprised at how alive all the cards seem. Can I do the Lovers? (Um, no pun intended.) |
