Do experienced readers encounter blockages?

I am facing my first public reading event tomorrow. I am wondering (not worrying) on what would happen if I were to have a blockage. As time goes on, do people still get them and what do you do if so. Do these things ever cause issue? How so?

2 prunes every morning seem to keep things unblocked for me.

Have you practiced reading out loud? I froze on my first face to face reading because thinking and saying are two different things.

I actually did better than I thought I would my first time reading face-to-face, just by the sheer fact that people love it when you talk about them. I thought I was going to get blocked, but this factor made it really difficult for that to happen.

my first reading face to face was in a coffee shop at an even id been talked into and had about 15 sitters one after the other and getting blocked was my biggest fear, but it didnt happen, its surprising you seem to go into auto pilot... I did get blocked on a phone reading for a test which was horrible but if you do just slow down, dont feel that you have to rush and start describing the card i find as soon as you do that it starts things moving again and you can let it start flowing.

Sure, we all get blocked at one time or another. It's just one of those things that happen. Nothing to really worry about. But if you DO worry about it, it's more likely to happen. If you hit a wall and every thought evaporates from your mind, just take a deep breath and move on to another part of the reading. It will pass. Even if it doesn't, just carry on and the sitter probably won't even notice. Or just admit that you've hit a little blank spot and explain that it may be that this particular part of the reading is to remain unknown for the time being. It's really nothing to worry about because we're human and these things do happen once in awhile. Plus, it really is true that sometimes there will be something that we're not meant to know at that particular time or that, if the sitter is to know that particular item, they're meant to learn it in another way or from another person.

Heh, cynical but sooo true. I gave my skeptic boyfriend a reading and I think the part he liked best was that I talked about him for 30 straight minutes.

When I get stuck on a card, I say, "Let's move on to the next card and then we'll come back to this one." By the time I do get back to that "stuck" card, I have a much better idea of how to read it. Sometimes it's just a matter of a card making more sense in context of the other cards. Hope this helps!

We all get 'blocked at one time or another. I was going to recommend that you do readings 'out loud' for a stuffed animal so you have someone to talk to, and practice 'seeing & saying,' which is where people try to say too many things because they are popping into their head but they still haven't finished the previous sentence.

...back to 'blocked': I can't tell you how many times I have had a client in front of me and lay out the 10 cards in a CC and look at them all and ABSOLUTELY NOTHING AT ALL comes to mind - nothing even makes sense. What do you do? You start with the first card and explain it, and add the next, talk about it, and keep adding the next card. Sometimes things make more sense or make a connection better in the 'spoken' word, than trying to figure out how the next 3 cards go together when they' don't.'

Most important of all: Never Let Them See You Sweat.
