IMPORTANT QUESTION:
WHICH 'playing card' should or would represent... 37. The CAT... card? i am leaving it off
until we all decide on one for it? i need your help here, since i don't know that much about
plain playing cards relating to a cat?

In the meantime, here is my 1st version of the ... wait for it... (LOL) YES... 37. The CAT ... card...
(WITH my 'artistic' font)

...got to run to my Lenormand class...i don't want to be late...be back later this evening...
the class runs about 5 hours! of pure lennie study and fun YAY!!!

Lyn ....P.S. hint...hint...there may be MORE cat cards coming...
Ok, for the info at the bottom of the card I think it's perfect!!!

For the version 1 of the Cat, it is soooooooo cute! The hair, kind of long works so well for the Shabby Chic....But, for the meaning of the Cat Card, I would see an adult cat more than a kitten...
Now, for the playing card insert....Well, for me it would be "the Joker" I think the meaning of the Joker will be a good match.

For your name the font is perfect. But for the messages it's hard to read. I think it's the capitals.
What happens if you don't use capitals? [Or maybe make the font a tad bigger?] The capitals are just a tad too swirly. Or thick. Some of the letters with curves are too thick to read easily.

It's beautiful writing but hard to read. Hope this makes sense to you.

And where have you found a 5-hr lenormand class??! I am SO jealous!!

*S*
Skydancer, yes, swirly fonts are very distracting for reading sentences, my situation
is that i don't want to introduce too many 'different' types of 'artistic' fonts onto the same card.
That was why i had a plain font for the wording to begin with = easily readability...

So, if you want to suggest another font, i would try it and we can see how it looks?

Re: my Sat. Lenormand class
Yes, it is a local class that i have started recently. And it is going so great...
And the number of people are starting to grow now...word is spreading and i am finding
out that there are more 'hidden' believers in the Metaphysical subjects in my area than i
ever knew there where So that is a good thing.

For some reason, the Lenormand deck, is starting to 'explode' with more interest...everywhere!
And people are much more open here to a lennie deck than to a tarot deck. i think it is
because of the simplistic symbols on the cards plus only 36 cards to memorize!
(unless you read intuitively) or like me and read BOTH traditionally and intuitively.

All of your comments are welcomed, Skydancer Thank you!

MoonGypsy, my wonderful sis, as you said, it is harder to read my fancy font unless
you enlarge the card. Since this will be a 'poker' sized deck, i need a font that will be easily
readable like my first choice was.

So i need to find a more readable font, but one that doesn't conflict with the font i am already using.
i don't want to mix too many different 'arty type' of fonts together...too distracting from the
main title font, which really needs the 'artistic' look. (i think anyway )

Regarding the (1st) 37. The CAT card:
i was mostly just playing around and testing the bottom wording, etc. on this 1st cat card.

i was going to have '2' cat cards, BUT now, right now, i am thinking of just ONE cat card
and that one needs to be an ADULT cat, i do agree with you.

So, YES, my sis, my 37. The CAT card..is going to be an 'adult ' cat and i believe
i already have the image i want to use for that one. Hopefully you will like it.

Thanks my sis!

Oh, i know, i have secret friends out there that let me know 'everything'...LOL

Thank you for 'loving' my deck, how sweet of you to say that!
Hope you come back often and comment on my deck...even if it is something you don't
particularly like about a card...go ahead and say please...

LadyZelda, question: Do you mean the 'fancy, swirly' font is good for the wording at the
bottom of the card? Or do you mean the 'way' i have 'set up' the wording on the bottom is good?
Not sure which you meant?

Regarding kittens v/s adult cats:
i have decided that only ONE (37.The CAT) card will be in the deck. That will probably be
an 'adult cat' by a pond. (It seems to me that if i add a 'kitten' card, then i would have to
also add a 'puppy' card to be fair. Now that i am thinking about it, it is not a good idea to
keep adding so many extra cards to this deck!)

Next i will make the 'adult pond kitten' and we will see if everyone likes and wants it for the adult cat card.

So, for sure, there WILL be an 'adult' cat for the card...no problem...

Regarding 'playing card' 'suit and number' for 37. The CAT card...
No one else answered that question???
However, i won't be using the Joker, because i want one of the regular Lenormand suits
for the cat card.

Because...My hope is that, my 37. card will be (eventually) adopted into the
lennie community of readers as a 'necessary' card...maybe this deck will make history and
will be a 'turning' point for Lenormand decks everywhere! (my secret wish and hope...LOL)

So, there is a member on here, that i just remembered, that has been INTO 'playing cards'
his whole live...he will probably have a good answer for us as to the suit, etc. for the cat card.
i have just pm'd him, so i hope he replies soon...probably within a day or two, unless he
just doesn't know the answer either.

Thank you for your comments, LadyZelda, they really help me!

@everyone:
So, i will make up the 'adult cat' (37. the CAT) card next and see how you all like it...
Plus i need to try a different font for the bottom wording again. Just not sure which font
would look right AND be 'small enough' to fit all the words on the bottom i thought i had
it right the first time, but no one liked it...so i changed it, and still no one likes it...

...so should i go back to my original font for 'wording on the bottom?' Or...should i try
a new font and does anyone want to suggest a font that they think i should use? i can test it.

Hope i made sense...LOL...it was a long lennie class...but loved every second of it...
...we had soooo much fun today! We just laughed and laughed...but we learned a lot together as well!
Lyn

37. The Cat

Here it is... 37. The CAT

...with the clearer font on 'timing' wording at the bottom...AND...someone on FB told me
that the cat is either (the fox card, which is the 9 of clubs) and someone else told me
that the cat should be represented by the 9 of Diamonds card...

i am waiting for that AT friend of mine to open his pm, as he might know because he is
more into the playing cards suit meanings than the symbols.

So, i really like the 9 of Diamonds for the cat because of two reasons:
1. a cat is a true 'gem' (diamond )
2. and cats have '9' lives ... ...see my reasoning? LOL

Thumbs up

i LOVE the Cat card, sis! i love the reflection in the pond and the water lotuses, which are very special to me for lots of reasons...
The bottom wording looks lovely, blends well with the Title font, and is easy for me to read. You did it!

For the info font I was able to read it but now I don't know how it would be if it was Poker size? I saw it on my PC and it was fine but true it didn't pop up "poker" size....

Here are few fonts that could work with the Shabby Chic style. They come from Office 2007 and you might have to play with bold for some of them.

Vivaldi
Lucinda Handwriting
Pristina
French Script MT
Blackladder ITIC
CommercialScrd
BrushScrd

For the Playing card insert:

9 of Diamond is already taken by the Coffin...That would be confusing to re-use a card that is already linked to a Lenormand card...IMO the Cat Card being a "37th" card needs to have its own, playing card insert.
I hope that your friend will find something because from what I knew about playing cards meaning and from all that I have researched (even looking up the meaning of the playing cards on French Websites), I have not been satisfied with any meaning that would match the Cat, except for the Joker... So, personally, I'm now at a "dead end"...Your friend seems to be our only hope!

For the new Cat Card, I it! Very Shabby Chic, the color of the cat and large eyes!.... her reflection in water! The lotus flowers...

Yes the writing is easier to read now -- and I remember from a few years ago reading that we are not to use more than 3 fonts in advertising media. Too many fancy fonts ruin the impact.

I like the lotus also -- and the reflection. Nice!

Yes - must use a different card insert for the cat. Not one that is already taken. 9 of diamonds is a good choice!! Or 9 of swords, as cats are always swatting things out of the air. (or is that already taken in the lenormand deck?? I don't remember.)

Would love to be in on your lenormand class!! Continue to enjoy!!

*S*

Yes, 9 of diamonds is taken by "The Coffin" card already

And the 9 of "swords" which is "spades" is also already taken by "The Anchor"

I know...I'm at the end of my wits also to figure out another playing card besides the Joker...

Hopefully, Lyn's friend will have an idea...with the meanings I know for the playing cards I could not find any suitable enough
