The 'Shabby Chicness Lenormand' deck...is finished and available...

Well, today, i feel like i am up against card 21. The MOUNTAIN

Regarding:
Choosing a 'playing card to represent the new (37. The CAT) card...

Well, after only 4 hours sleep last night, i couldn't sleep because i MUST figure out
which playing card to use

Note: The Lenormand does not use the 2's through 5's of the playing cards, nor the Joker.
So, the 6's through the Court cards are all assigned already, one per Lenormand card.

It has been suggested to me... to 'duplicate' one of the playing cards already assigned to the Lenormand deck.

Another suggestion i received is to use the 4 of diamonds (ETA: not taken) or 9 of diamonds (ETA: taken),
They said these represent the cat...but i am not so sure about that.

LadyZelda, you suggested the 'Joker' card. i would love to use the Joker card for the
Cat, BUT...i KNOW if i do that i will be the laughing stock of the Universe
They (the lennie community) will call the 37. The CAT card 'a joke!' (short for Joker)
So, i would not be too thrilled to use that card, even though you think it would fit.

So the other options are:
2's of each suit
3's of each suit
4's of each suit
5's of each suit
10 of Hearts (same as the dog)
9 of Clubs (the same as the fox and it does represent domestic cats)
2 of Hearts (is not used in the lennie decks, and it could represent the 'love bond between you and your cat! )

Plus, here is a post from someone regarding the 2's:

...so i AM leaning to the 2 of Hearts (loving) or to the 10 of Hearts (why should the dog get all the glory?)

Regarding the Dog's 10 of Hearts:
If i put the dog's playing card suit on the new Cat card, it will be a first time done in
the history of the Lenormand decks...but it might eventually be accepted.

ETA: i am going to use the same #'s and playing cards for all the woman/man cards in this deck...
...so, i could use the dog's same playing card?

i don't know which would be more accepted (eventually):
the 2 of Hearts or the 10 of Hearts?

Any other thoughts?

Yes, i went back to my original wording font and it is more clear, you are right.

Here are few fonts that could work with the Shabby Chic style. They come from Office 2007 and you might have to play with bold for some of them.

For the Playing card insert:

9 of Diamond is already taken by the Coffin...That would be confusing to re-use a card that is already linked to a Lenormand card...IMO the Cat Card being a "37th" card needs to have its own, playing card insert.
I hope that your friend will find something because from what I knew about playing cards meaning and from all that I have researched (even looking up the meaning of the playing cards on French Websites), I have not been satisfied with any meaning that would match the Cat, except for the Joker... So, personally, I'm now at a "dead end"...Your friend seems to be our only hope!

For the new Cat Card, I it! Very Shabby Chic, the color of the cat and large eyes!.... her reflection in water! The lotus flowers...

You are so totally right...the 9 of Diamonds is OUT...(since it belongs to the coffin card! YIKES) LOL

As far as the fonts, 'thank you' for suggesting those, i will give them a try and see how they
look and work out. Maybe one of those will look better than the one i used on the Cat card.

work in high school and learned that same thing: no more than 3 different fonts on a page!
The 6's through the Court playing cards are already used in the lennie decks. I could use
the 2 of Hearts possibly, or the Dog's 10 of Hearts.

LadyZelda, 9 of diamonds = Coffin card...would not be good for the Cat card...i agree!

Okay - I've been thinking about this! I vote for the 9 of clubs, same as the fox. No problem with that I think. My second chice is the 2 of cups, to go with the 10 of cups of the dog. My second/third choice is 2 of spades. For obvious reasons - cats paw at the air all the time for fun or prey.

You have good reasoning faculties!! You'll figure it out!

But don't lose sleep over it. When the timing is right it will come to you almost unbidden.

You are right, that would probably end up that way...and that is a BIG "No, No", there is no need to give any room for negativity or mockeries! I will love the Cat card without the Joker insert just as well!

IMO, it would not be good to give the Cat a playing card already in use, even the Dog playing card...because the Cat has gotten her own card. The 2nd set of Woman/Man is still the same thing, just a 2nd set. The Cat is not the Dog, it is not like we would have a 2nd Dog card....The Cat will have her own interpretation, at least I will not read it as the Dog card...

As you found out that the number 2 is usually assigned to pets; I think a 2 then would be a great choice! Moreover, one of the meanings for 2 is balance! And cats certainly have a lot of it! For the suit, I agree with you Lyn, "hearts" would not be bad at all...I have always lived with cats and contrarily to what some think, they are very loving, caring, faithful, loyal...They just show their feelings in a different way and believe "you" belong to them...Which everything has to be in their own terms...Still, they love you dearly and are very good at discerning what is going on with you...they are very sensitive...

Therefore, I place my vote for:

2 of Hearts

i am still leaning towards the '2 of Hearts' for our lovable Mittens

...and it is looking more and more like it will be the 2 of Hearts...

...so i do believe that the 'Heart suit' is the correct suit for the Cat card!

I don't (yet) pay much attention to the playing card insets on Lenormand cards, so I don't really have an opinion on which one would best suit the Cat card. I am pretty new to Lenormand and have not yet attached meanings to the playing card images.

Structurally I suppose it makes the most sense to add a 2 or a 5 to the deck since you would be filling in the gap in the cards from either end, but without adding all the 2s or all the 5s, it seems unbalanced to me. Would it make more sense to not add a playing card inset to the Cat card? If not, then a 2 or a 5 makes sense to me.

Some people use the playing card inserts and some don't, so i am putting them on there
just in case someone does use them in their readings.

As far as the 37. CAT card, i have decided that it WILL have the '2 of Hearts' on the bottom left corner of the card.

And as mentioned about a week ago, i am going to also have and extra set of the 28. Man and 29. Woman cards in the deck as well.

Also, about a month ago, i came across a 'female' rider on a horse, that i fell in love with,
and 'IF' it is workable, i will have a 'female' for a rider card instead of the usual man on the horse.
That seems to be a problem for some people, in another AT thread, BUT, 'change' is at hand'
and in my heart, so i am going with what i have been show to do (from my dreams, etc.)

This is the year for the 'NEW' Lenormand 'MOVEMENT' and 'CHANGE'!!!

Some will like my deck, while others won't, and those that don't... don't have to like or buy my deck!
