Could they be white roses? I liked the simple white flowers in the first version. They represent that both parties to the contract are operating in purity and honesty.

I can see that the colorful pink flowers are more joyful and contrasty but they compete with the ring itself for attention. The ring should be the focus.

A white or red rose would work! thus if more than 1 rose would be too much for the pic (like making it too cluttered), either color would work!

The white like Myrrha suggested would bring the notion of purity and honesty in the contract (which ever contract it is) and red would remind us of the way people were sealing agreements in the past in diverse ethnics...they were using blood. These kinds of agreement made with blood were very serious, unbreakable....

Still, if we are looking at the card like if it was part of a reading, the other cards would really determine what kind of “contract” this is Ring is talking about…and at that point whether the rose is white or red will not make any difference…

Just imagine the Ring and the Snake…..and we have now a contract that is not pure nor honest and that is not “serious” and “the nasty little snake” won’t mind breaking it!

Therefore I would be happy with either color If a white rose would be used, it will just require having behind it something that is darker or it is going to blend to the point of disappearing, otherwise it would be great!

Wow...i can say that 'not enough sleep' has finally caught up with me because last night
i made two more versions and i 'thought' i had posted them...but i see today that i didn't! YIKES...

So to reply to you all first:

My sis, i would never get mad at you over any stupid cards...paper and ink stuff! LOL
It is the Spirit you bring that counts to me...in other words, how you present your critique
that i would have issue with...not what you say, my dearest friend!

It sounds like i am the only one that likes that box. Maybe it doesn't fit in here because it is
antique...or maybe it is just the colors...i have done a couple more versions...you can see below...

Thanks sis, i do think that yours, and everyone's, honesty is the best thing you could do for this deck...
as long as it makes sense and is not in malice (negative feelings) towards my person or my deck...LOL
i can tell the difference.

So, I'm just gonna try by giving different ideas...

- I think also that the curtains need tweaking of some sort. They look too pasted and there is a too definite split of the 2 colors.

Maybe, the background could be like if you could see some of the room, and there is that table where the ring has been put, and behind it is a wall (blurry???) or the wall and a window that has closed lace curtains?????

Maybe, just a simple background of blurry colors, like "smoke", something fading and blending with the borders of the card????? Something less definite and more subtle?

- Then, the vase and flowers don’t seem to work very well; they seem to have not their place in that picture...

Maybe, for the Shabby Chic, we could have a pair of lace gloves, with maybe a red rose also put down with them...like if someone, came home saw the ring on the table, with the red rose and went "Ooh, Wow…" and dropped her gloves, to pick up that ring...(now, I'm making up a love story! )

- The box, it is better than the first one because the ring is more visible now that the box has a darker inside...What seems to be wrong is that the ring looks almost like it is floating inside the box like if the inside of the box is not "solid" enough, hard to explain.

So maybe, it is like MoonGypsy says that box just doesn't work and there is a need for another one…

OR….maybe, no box at all! And the ring is placed on a "stand" which puts it on display nonetheless. For sure the ring needs to dominate the scene and must be placed on the spot light, I just can't figure out how...unless, maybe it would be placed on a small, satin or velvet cushion????

I'm throwing a bunch of ideas as they come, I hope I'm not bringing even more confusion... But, seeing how you have so many times wrapped up everything just right; if there's someone that can make sense out of all these ideas it is you my friend!
LadyZelda, you said it exactly... the ring needs to dominate the card...and also
it is one thing to say what would look good and quite another when you go to put it all together
on a small card ...some cards go smooth and some are just more difficult...and
the ring you would think would be easy...BUT because of it having to be the main focus
it presents a difficulty in proportioning to other items in the card's background, etc.
i stayed up till 3am and did 2 more cards...and thought i posted them before i went to bed
BUT...no somehow the post didn't go through??? what??? anyway...calmed down now...LOL
and i will repost them below...LOL
Thank you again, my friend...

MoonGypsy, sis, at the moment there are so many different ideas floating around on
the ring card right now and different variations of roses, colors, backgrounds, blurred, not blurred,
curtains with too many colors, etc. Ha Ha... ...but in the meantime you can look at
my new latest 2 more versions of the ring card...but now i am NOT sure they are right either...LOL... YIKES...
(i did these before i read your posts)
Thanks my sis!

i agree that something else should be in the card, and it should be a flower...somewhere...
...too much color does compete with the ring...i agree... i think one of my new versions
might solve that problem a little...maybe LOL
Thank you Myrrha for your thoughts...they help!

Well, LadyZelda, i made the next two ring versions BEFORE i read any posts in the thread today...
...so i don't know where that will leave us all now...LOL
i will re-read all the posts here and see what to do from there...
Thank you again...my friend...

So i will just go ahead and post them below along with the first two versions...now we have '4' versions...LOL

Here are the 4 different versions: (the last photo has all of them and with the back image)

Thank you ALL for your comments, thoughts, critiques, etc. that is SOOO APPRECIATED!!!

LOL...i just made another version.5 ......now we have '5' versions...
...i do agree with you on this version 3...it is REALLY shabby chic...but i am wondering if
it is a tad over the top and do you think it distracts from the ring?...i would like to have the
ring larger maybe...but to enlarge it, i would have to enlarge the whole image and then some
of it would be lost especially on the sides of the photo...know what i mean?
Why don't you see if you like the version 5 i just made? (see below)
(i wonder if the 25. The Ring card will have an 'extra' card?) i really need to figure out the costs
of all the extra cards to see how many ...exactly i can have in the deck...need to work on that but keep forgetting)...
Thanks sis, for hanging in there with me...

Penthasilia, "Great minds think alike"...is true in this case...for sure!
Glad you like it...what do you think of the new version 5 below?
Thank you my friend!

With version 5 (below) i just made: (i was able to make the ring larger in this one...
Also there are some 'white' (gloves) and old 'white' wicker behind that is very subtle...
and some 'flowers' that are not overpowering in this one...and not much other stuff to distract from the ring itself)

HOWEVER...i was very reluctant to use this ring case as it is a 'heart' shape and i don't want
any card to distract from another, specifically the 24. The Heart card!!! i have seen this
all too often in lennie decks and that just plain turns me off to the deck!!! Do you think that
the heart shaped ring case (version 3 or version 5 below) will distract from my 24. Heart card???
That is exactly what i am worried about

On version 3, i might be able to go back and make the ring & case larger but i would have
to get rid of the larger rose thing to the right of it and then i would have to totally reconstruct
the picture frame the ring is on top of...big work and it might ruin the total look...
i just want the ring to stand out more...since that is what the card is really about...

Lyn

here is version 5...LOL

i still like version 3 the VERY best-- http://www.tarotforum.net/attachment...6&d=1342386079
and don't worry about the heart shaped box. Please don't get rid of the flowers to the right of it; as it is part of what i love about it... Maybe you could just make the flowers a bit smaller, rather than eliminate them, etc...

[i really don't care for version 5 anywhere near as much as version 3.]
