There is special librarian's tape for these eventualities... Ordinary tape is - as TB says - a VERY bad idea, especially if it is the shiny sort. Yellow and crunchy in no time (when I was a young thing who knew no better I used to repair my sheet music with it. Not Good. Magic tape is better - but far from ideal....) __________________ ~ ~ I probably shouldn't be here. But this was the only universe which had a vacancy. ~ ~ (Granny from Hell) I is very deaf. I think it must be a climate thing. I don't live in a dry climate and have never had any problem with these boxes coming apart. Nor the books. My Llewellyn sets, however, are kept on the other side of town and if I sigh heavily (approximately 5 kms away) they always fall apart, without fail. |

I find that Mod Podge craft/decopage glue works great for all my gluing needs, even paper and boxes. I have even used it to repair broken book bindings. No matter what glue you use, try to clamp or somehow put something heavy on the area that is being glued, and leave it there for a few hours at least. For decks that don't come with a snug or tuck box, I use the plastic index card boxes. There are some brands made with little holes on the side edges, which is great for air circulation, but even without the holes, when the box is snapped closed, it is never entirely sealed - air can get in thru the top. |
