This card is so indicative of pure fun and being at home in your own world with your own kind, whether family, friends, or extended family. Otters are some of my favorite "people". When I lived on a riverbank, I'd see river otters now and then and I love going to the Oregon aquarium and seeing sea otters frolic and do otter-ly things, They're some of the happiest animals I can think of. Or at least, they sure seem to be.
I just referred to the book entry on this card and it talks about the otters showing joy and they surely do.
The message I get from this card is "bloom where you're planted". No matter where you find yourself in life, you can build a community of good, caring friends and still find joy, no matter how unusual your circumstances may be. It doesn't matter what we have or don't have, we can always make the best of it and hang onto our sense of fun and optimism.
