The esoteric side of Waite et al

The nexus of this thread started with the pillar thread http://www.tarotforum.net/showthrea...10&pagenumber=1
in which the question of the meaning of the RWS tarot symbols came up.

It is well known that Mathers, Yeats, Waite, and Machen were known to hang out at the British Museum at the same time, looking for similar books....so it is not surprising that in their private letters they often delve into the esoteric side of the cards..... so if folks want to understand what such folks thought of the esoteric side of side of the cards ...their correspondence & temple records are a good source.

Anyone else read any of this correspondence?

Hi mac22

I have never read of the correspondances, but would love to look into the secret meanings of symbols:

So far:

www.esotericarchives.com/esoteric.htm

www.juliette.wood.btinternet.co.uk/tarot.htm

http://members.lycos.nl/ananael/tex...-links-page.htm

www.hermetics.org/articles.html

That's a start, I haven't looked through all these properly yet, and will get back to you over the next few days (after some reading )

Thanks. I posted over there.

I was hoping this thread could go beyond what is generally available in mass print media.
