Most people seem so fearful of sounding too "woo-woo". 
IMHO, there is nothing "woo" about wanting to establish a special connection with your favorite deck(s). Obviously, it isn't necessary, but if it makes you feel happier and more prepared to work with your deck, well...why the heck not??
My suggestion would be to consecrate your deck with the five elements. For fire, pass your cards over the flame of a candle. (Obviously, not close enough to singe the cards!) For water, dip your fingers in water and flick them towards the cards (again, not close enough to damage them). For air, pass them over the smoke from incense. For earth, place a quartz crystal on top of the deck. And for spirit, I like to hold the deck between my hands and send Reiki energy into them. If you don't practice Reiki, simply hold the deck in your hands and meditate upon your intentions for using them.
