Greetings from Malaysia! :)

Hi everyone,

I’m new to ATF but no newbie to Tarot. I’m a Chinese guy and I’ve started reading when I was studying in University of Western Michigan, United States eight years ago. A Wiccan friend introduced it to me.

However, I am no expert yet. There’s still a lot for me to learn. Mostly I use tarot for self-understanding. My favourite decks for personal reading are the Medicine Card, Shape Shifter, Ancestral Path and Osho-Zen.

Currently, I am using Chinese Tarot and Rider-Waite when I read for others because the pictures are less abstract and easy to understand. Previously I had Sacred Rose Tarot and Robin Wood Tarot but gave them away because I didn’t feel the connection.

I just want to say that I am fascinated with the different themes of the tarot decks and wanted to do a comparative study about the different meanings of their respective symbols... especially if the decks depict different cultures such as the Egyptian, Japanese, Greek, Japanese, Native Indian and their animal symbols, etc.

Now, I am in my home country Malaysia. Unfortunately, the tarot community in M’sia is small and limited. I hope to meet up with some individuals living in or around Malaysia to perhaps get together and form a study group. We still refer to the forum as there is a wealth of information from others far away from Asia.

Anyway, I think the interest in Tarot is growing here albeit very slowly. This is because there are more tarot decks available in some selected bookstores in Kuala Lumpur as compare to before (actually there are only two that I know). Most of my decks I got it locally. Presently I have twelve decks of tarot cards.

I hope can learn as well as contribute to the forum. Please pardon me if I make any wrongful or ignorant remarks. Sometimes I can get too enthusiastic when I write and may make mistakes.
