Oracle Deck for Beginners
I didn't notice if there was a thread already dedicated to this. If there is, please put me in the direction of it. I have several different Tarot decks but have yet to pick up an Oracle deck. I've always wanted to though. I think the closest possible deck I have is my Fairy Ring deck, but I'm not sure.. Any ideas? __________________ You Are in Control of Your Destiny |

Hi IsisInnana, do you mean the Fairy Ring by Anna Franklin and Paul Mason ? That is an oracle deck. I have it too, but I don't really use it, only for reading the stories about the different fairies  There are so many different oracle decks, in tarot every deck basically follows the same system, whereas in oracles every one is so different...difficult to compare, I don't think any of them are too difficult for a beginner. If you would like more fairies, you could check out the Faeries' Oracle by Brian Froud. It is more a psychological tool rather than predictive, the book that comes with the deck is very good and there is also a Study Group here for this deck, so that would be a good choice. I like oracles that work with animals, two good ones are Medicine cards Druid Animal Oracle. The Druid Animal Oracle has great artwork, the Medicine cards have more simple drawings but the book is also very good. You can see samples of all three if you go to "decks" at the top of your screen. I think most of all you should look for a deck that appeals to you - you can just browse the Oracle forum and see what everyone has to say about the different decks Happy searching !!

Two that seem to get talked about the most are the Osho Zen and the Brian Froud's Fairy Oracle. Both are supposed to be very good (though I haven't tried either one myself). __________________ You can give a cat a fish, and he'll eat for a day.
