Hi Simone:

You got me right away--shortest game ever, I bet.

"How have the mighty fallen..." Well, not that I was so mighty, but it was a terrible fall after that first shining success.

Over to you--looking forward to it.

thanks, bassetized...

but I think the card would have been a toughie for everyone, including me (except maybe Jeannette, she seems to know each and every deck by heart ) if I had not made a comment about just that card to someone when I first looked through the deck - that's why it stuck to me

I'll take a moment before posting though, because I want to look through my decks before deciding - I do not have a snippet ready

Love
Simone

ROFL! Don't I wish!

Actually, one of the reasons I like this game is because it forces me to really go back and take a good look at some of these decks and cards. The only reason I can do as well as I do (thus far) is because I have, of course, looked at all these decks, and while I don't have a good memory for the specifics, I do retain the feel of the general "style" of each. So when I see the snippet, I narrow down my choices to a list of decks that fit the "feel" of the snippet's artwork style -- then I just go and dig through those decks until I hit it...

...Except in the case of bassetized's "Tarot of the Dead" snippet, which I remember vividly because of its clever contrast to the rest of the deck. Even so, I'm not sure I would have gotten it as quickly as I did if I hadn't spied her post stating that it wasn't an "Empress" card. Looking at it from the "traditional" standpoint, that image had "Empress" written all over it, thereby naturally biasing one's thinking toward Empress cards.

No, you did great, Simone! I was hoping some people might be led astray by the bare backside and think of erotica decks. (In fact, I thought of the gnome's bottom because I was noticing I don't own any erotica decks and was ogling--I mean researching--some of them on Jeannette's web site today.) But you, being of a purer mind, weren't fooled--nice job.

And Jeannette, I think you're selling your memory short, even if it is for the style of the decks more than the specifics. If I looked at as many decks as you do, my brain would be like a tangled ball of yarn, and I can tell from reading your posts that your mind is a looong way from tangled in any sense. 'Course, come to think of it, some days my brain is kind of like tangled yarn anyway.

I'm rambling. Sorry. Off to sleep now (rambling as I go down the hall to bed).

Hmmmm - at first glance I thought it was going to be the LoS Gaudenzi Celtic (the violent one) but I've been through the deck and I can't see it. I still think it may well be one of the Celtic decks, but I wouldn't be able to narrow it down any further.

PS - Bassetized: loved that detail from the Gnomes! It's not a deck I'd ever considered, but I might have to think again!!!

Simone -

That wouldn't be from Tarot of the Animal Lords by any chance, would it?
