Firstly, I'm a novice at this, so forgive me for asking obvious questions. My natal chart i got off astro website seems real strange to me. 6th House: sun 1 Libra , Moon 23 Virgo, Mercury 18 Virgo 7th House: Venus 28 Libra, Pluto 0 Scorpio 8th House: Saturn 13 scorpio 9th House: Uranus 11 Saggitarus, Mars 22 Saggitarus, Neptune 28 Saggitarus, Jupiter 4 Capricon Ascendant in 7 Aries Thats all... seems that my planets are quite cluttered together (conjunction?), and in one area of the chart. Any significance? Furthermore, my sun is in 1 Libra which is quite near to virgo, and my moon is in virgo, so how should that be interpreted? Also, the many planets in the 6th and 9th house causes many squares, and especially since it's with the sun and moon, what does that mean? Is it also possible to tell my personality from my chart? As from what i see, it does not tell much about my character. Although i glanced through the forum, i couldn't explain much of my chart. Thanks in advance. |

I think it's called a "cluster". But I don't know much about it, since I am so new to Astrology... |

Questions . . .
Tetrflare, the chart almost always reflects one personality and inclinations of behavior. Since this is your first posting, you may not have had time to review much of the activity that occurs in this forum. Astrology is very complex and those that seek quick answers are often disappointed in what they hear. It takes time to understand astrology. Before we hand you your life on a platter, you might benefit more by taking the time to learn the language and processes of astrology so that you can participate in a dialog -- thereby gaining a lot more from the process. Your chart will still be valid next month, next year -- and you'll benefit greatly from the learning process. Dave |

e.g.I have obtained and read books explaining moon signs being about your wants and what you can obtain, or the personalities of each planet in relation to each zodiac and how to they are placed at different zones indicate each character trait. But the thing is that i've not had a reading or seen a reading done before therefore i do not know how to classify the result.Furthermore, i do not have much knowledge of relation of positions between planets like the grand trine, grand cross, stelium, sextile and i seriously do not grasp much from the forums. Another thing I learned in the forum are the elements affecting the strength of the planets. Although I do know about each planet and zodiac's element and cardinal, fixed, mutable sign, i do not know how to apply them. Also, I've read on how certain points on lines between two planets fixed by a ratio attribute to a reading. Any idea? Hence, please provide some insight. I'm here to learn, not to get a free reading. Do not misunderstand. p.s. I'm a tarot user who has grown an interest in relating tarot to astrology, therefore the reason I picked up astrology. |

Tetrflare, dear you have a sad emoticon; don't worry, having planets bunched up is quite common. It indicates there is a focus of energy w/i those houses and is not strange at all. - Sun in Libra is still sun in Libra. Interpretation is an art, try reading others' interpretations of Sun/moon/ASC combinations in our study group: http://www.tarotforum.net/showthread.php?t=12481 - squares indicate internal tension. As for the meaning, as dadsnook says, there are no quick and easy answers. Again, peruse the study group thread to see how others have experienced their squares. - Most definetely you can tell personality from a chart. I can usually accurately guess at chart themes when I meet a person - which planets/signs are strong etc. |

p.s.
I posted as you were posting and you basically sound like you have having trouble putting a natal chart together. This is quite common and can take years of study to become competent. My suggestion to you would be, instead of jumping around looking at everything at once, find a focus. e.g. Try to understand aspects and squares in particular w/o worrying about houses and signs. Just focus on planets aspecting. Feel free to ask away any questions you have regarding them. Other advice would be not to be consumed by your own natal chart (unless you have no interest in reading astrology in general). Explore others' charts as well. I know it's fun to just read up on your own stuff, but if you're serious about astro, you shortchange yourself this way. Welcome to Astrology, btw

Hey, isthmus nekoi, thanks for the reply. Apparently there are quite a few things that i read up which is not exactly similar to what is stated in the forum. I've learned before that signs at near the Cusp are the rulers of the house while in the forums it's said that they share the personalities of the house next to it. From a self reading from the positions of the planets on the chart, it seems that it does not tally with my character and personality. (the sun in Libra is accurate, it's the positions of planets that don't tally with my character.) So, can someone just shoot a few words about my character from my planet positions on my chart to see if it's right. |

okay, I'll take a shot...
Keep in mind that I'm a relative beginner too, so I may be way off the mark. Quote:

Jupiter may very well expand your interest in these areas and provide many lucky leads. Sorry, but Capricorn is an enigma to me. Every Cap I've met has been different and I can't quite get a handle on this sign. Overall, I'd say that you are pulled strongly to relating on a personal level to others around you. These are very superficial keyword readings, I know, but they're my best guess for now. Let me know if I was at least partially right? ~Kaylee |

Kaylee, i find what you say very interesting. Being a Libra, I want to prove you wrong, but I must say that is quite right. From your views: 6th House: I have indeed what you said, since the sun and moon factors have been very accurate. 7th House: Spot on for the relationship. I'm a typical Libra. tumultuous affairs can be true on how i percieve it. 8th House: That coincide with my tarot card i identify with - 10 WHEEL OF FORTUNE. 9th House: That agrees with my numerology, where my name, birth, enviroment frequently shows the number 9 - for spiritualism, philosophical, psychic. Thanks Kaylee. I did more reading up and I do understand better (though i do not like what i gather from my planetary aspects i.e. the degrees between planets.) If anyone still wants to try read from my chart, i would gladly verify your reading. |

Tetraflare, Would you mind posting your natal details - date of birth, time of birth, place of birth - it's quite possible that the house cusps of some houses are not in the same sign as the planets within them. This would make a difference to the interpretation. Also I find it easier to look at a chart than to work through a list of planetary positions. From what you provide your element balance is about even, with a slight favour to Earth - practical and down to earth approach. Your qualities are mainly mutable and cardinal, you can adapt well to changing situations and are good at getting things going but might have some problems seeing things through. The House balance might alter this a little in terms of your ability to aquire skills over life. There's some debate about the weighting of planets in the personality. It's an Art rather than a Science. There's also debate as to whether it's planets in signs and houses that matter most or house rulers by position and sign that matter most - Also the role of the Ascendant ruler can be important. In your case the Ascendant is in Aries, so Mars will be an important planet in the interpretation of your personality - The Aries Ascendant is a Fire sign and Mars is in Sagittarius a Fire sign - so this will bring 'Fire' up to a par with Earth, making you a little more assertive and action oriented than the initial planetary count. The start for personality, in a traditional approach is therefore Ascendant and ruler (Mars), the Sun and Moon, the MC and the Part of Fortune - the two key angles, the luminaries and the Part of Fortune, which joins Sun, Moon and Ascendant. The other planets will help to provide shape and colour to this judgement through their aspects and position. If you're going to try this yourself and it's well worth the effort, once you've looked at the above, look at each house in turn. Take the area of life it represents, look at the ruler of the house and where it is in your chart and the planets, if any, in the house. For most people the key areas of life will be personality and health (first), Family and home (Fourth), Marriage and partnership (Seventh) and Career and role in society (Tenth) - remember you have a house ruler for each of these, so don't assume that an empty house means an empty area of life. Planets in these areas will be more able to express themselves compared to the same sign position and aspects but in another house. The position of Mercury will give you some idea of your mind, powers of communication, etc - in your case quite strong but possibly having to overcome some obstacles to clear expression. The position of Venus will give you some idea of how you relate to others and indeed, with Jupiter how you get your fun in life - in your chart Venus is also quite strong. Mars gives an indication of how and where you assert yourself. If you operate on the basis of planet = element of personality, sign = how expressed and house = where expressed most strongly, then this will allow you to make some progress. Remember your basic personality will not be changed by these expressions - Mercury, Venus, Mars and the rest will not overule Sun, Moon, Ascendant, Ascendant ruler, etc. They may modify but not replace. For example, If you were basically a hesitant person, then no matter how strong Mars is, it will not turn you into a wonderfully assertive person - it will simply add a little more assertiveness to the underlying diffidence. Finally, and rather heretically - don't try to integrate all this together - at least not till you become familiar with the basic meanings and what each part of your analysis tells you. Then when you're confident you might try to sum up your reading by trying to interrelate. __________________ Minderwiz Wer meines Speeres Spittze furchtet durchschreite das Feuer nie!
