It seems that no one is responding now to Titania's spreads.

Shall we discontinue it now?

Hey Katie,

I've been away the last couple of days. I don't know where everybody has gone.

I don't think we should give up.....actually, I was wondering if we should have a go at the 36-card spread?

I am going to try to get back to these, although I have missed the last one or two.

I think a change of spread may be good too.

apart from what is in the book, 7 card, 9 card and full deck spread, does anyone know of any others??

I'm perfectly happy to keep these interpretations going.

First up my interpretation

LILY : MOON : MOUNTAIN : BEAR : TREE : ROAD : CLOUDS

The querent is thinking about a business proposition that involves someone from overseas or going overseas. It looks like a long term investment to me.

I haven't been able to get to these because I've just had so much going on at the moment, but I agree that a change of spread might be a good idea, it'll get us all enthusiastic again.

Just because you all might be interested I'll tell you what I've been doing with my daily readings lately... I have a lot of time on my hands when I get to work (I run my own shop) so when I have been doing my daily spreads I've been doing an extension of them. For each of the seven cards drawn I do a who/what/where/when four card draw. I've mentioned before that sometimes I do them for clarifiy a confusing card. WELL... it has been unbeliveable the stuff that has come up from doing that for all seven cards! To give you an example of how/what I do I'll use the above spread...

Card: .Who:............. What:...............Where: ..............When:
Lily:....Rider(visitor)....Whip(tension).....Moon( night).........Cross(for life)
Moon: Dog(friend)......letters(news)......Garden(social) ......House(home time)
Mount:Snake(silent)....bear (important)..Clouds(cloudy).....stork(promptly)
Bear:..Letters(messenger)..Heart(love)...Dog(frien ds)........Coffin(delays)
Tree:..Rider(visitor)....Clover(luck)........Ancho r(definte)....Bear(important)
Road:..House(housemate)..Owl(nervousness)..Garden( social)..Tower(past)
Clouds:Heart(love)......Dog(friendship).....Lily(b usiness).........bear(important)

I know it looks confusing and like theres a lot of information but it actually works out. A well liked friend who comes to visit a housemate or with a housemate brings important news that while lucky takes the querent out of their comfort zone (tension/nervousness). There's a night out most likely at a night club that was probably planned but had been delayed.

I did it last night for today and got the letters in one of the where colums and heaps of other stuff but the message was basically that a proffesional woman who was a mother would come to see me and book a reading but that it would be delayed. There was something about going to a post office (letters in the where column.) So was I surprised when I had a lady who runs a shop up the road came into the shop today with her son to book a reading in the morning but let me know that she had some errands to run down at the post office?!?!

I have actually been finding this method to be giving me such different readings to just the seven card daily, it may be giving very mundane things but it has been working! Very freakily so. Anyway, I just thought I'd share that with you all.

p.s The other reason I have been loving this daily exercise is that it has been stretching my definions of the cards. Sometimes its hard to work out what say the mountain under the 'when' column means or say the ring for when. All in all though it has been interesting.

I might as well tell you what I've been doing

I don't know how it will work out, because it takes so long

but I did a seven card spread everyday. I logged down what cards I'd got, then over the period of seven days, I noted which cards came up more often than the others, to see if there was a message in there.

I've not worked out what it all means yet! early days, but has anyone else been adapting the cards to a spread?

Katie, I think that's a great idea and sometimes these type of experiments with any deck seem to open up our understanding of them. Infact I am doing an experiment of my own at the moment.

Having swapped Lenormand decks (from Jeu Lenormand to Piatnik, where there are no rhymes to be influences by) I am working on my own set of meanings for the cards again. The reason for this is down the Lily, which I don't always see as the 'happy card' it's made out to be (in Jeu Lenormand), infact I see it as more like the Titania meaning posted by you Katie. In my family we sometimes see the white lily as a funeral flower (remember Diana's white lilies on her coffin, from her sons). Try as I might, this view doesn't clear from my mind when reading with this deck, so I have decided to incorporate it into my meanings.

I will come back to this thread with my interpretation later. Glad to see it's still going...

Lilies

Its funny you should say that about Lilies. I have long thought of them as funeral flowers, and even with this new penchant for having white lilies in bouquets and arrangements in vases, I still don't like the idea of them in the house.

The first impression I get when I see the lily card is hospital/illness rather than legal/law.

and I'm always forgetting that the fish means dreams as well as money.

I'm interested in doing expansions on cards that can't be read well as faerygodmother suggested. I'll certainly be giving it a try.

LILY : MOON : MOUNTAIN : BEAR : TREE : ROAD : CLOUDS

The spread speaks to me of a person who has an illness (lily) which has taken them by surprise (moon) or perhaps just been discovered. It seems the person has been fighting the illness (mountain) and is starting to make a recovery and gaining strength (bear and tree). But good health is not yet with them and therefore a difficult decision has to be made (road and clouds).
