May lunations
May 8 | Taurus New Moon | 4:45am EST This Taurus new moon would offer up some grounding energy for the projects you began in the last lunation except that it is being squared exactly by dreamy Neptune. Neptune's dissipation in energy is backed up with Mars approaching Uranus in Pisces. So this is not a good time to emphasize the "hard work" signified by Taurus, but its other polarity, enjoying sensual pleasures and smelling the roses. Venus is feeling quite comfortable in her home sign as well, making this a good time to enjoy the arts. Taurus isn't a pretentious sign; when I say arts, it could very well mean something simple like making crafts with your kids or chilling in your garden. Saturn is also sextiling our Taurian sun/moon conjunction as well as squaring Mercury, putting the brakes on. So slow down. Don't be stubborn and push too hard with this lunation, or you'll end up slogging through mud. May 23 | Sagittarius Full Moon | 4:18pm EST The Sag full moon represents highlights the Sagittarius-Gemini axis, favouring all things speedy and exciting. We've got a fair bit of mutable energy and mixed signals with this lunation so things may feel a little unfocused, scattered. The tightest aspects involve a Gemini Venus squaring Mars and trining Neptune. Put off any debating, especially in the context of relationships for another day and don't push. Especially with Mercury (communication) in stubborn Taurus with a sextile to Saturn. Save that stubborn energy for work where it'll come in useful. Now I usually don't look at inconjuncts (also known as "quincunx") but we have two heavy ones which may throw you off, make you feel a little more on edge. First, there's Saturn inconjunct Pluto, indicating agitation with authority figures and then there's Jupiter inconjunct Uranus which may feel like you're suddenly itching for change, surges of energy. So altogether, something of an unsettling lunation. A good time to make small adjustments but think very carefully before you start making drastic changes - don't let that edginess cloud your thinking. Plan ahead for the next new moon. |
