Mythic Astrology Deck
I happened to come across this while browsing the trading section here, Liz Green's Mythic Astrology (Boxed set 48 cards with 200 page book), here's some pics: http://users.stargate.net/~dajax/DeckSwap/index.html Obviously it's not a tarot deck but an oracle/divination deck of the astrological sort! I have never heard of it before, and now I WANT it! Does anyone own it? Heard of it? Have any opinion of it? I believe Liz Green is also the.............artist? she is so awesome, my favorite astrology source. I have the Mythic Astrology set , I bought it used. I love her books but admit the set is still on the shelf. I am off on another avenue of interest at this time (we Aquarius are like Gemini for looking at so many different things) I am looking at Psycards right now. The Mythic Astrology set is used, so if you would like to trade something well used for it, let me know.

I have it. I've only used it to lay out my own astrology chart though. I use the deck for more of a visual aid in thinking about astrology. I'm not sure how it could be used as a divination deck. But I love the artwork and I like to see the cards laid out - helps me to understand the chart.

Liz Greene is not the artist of the Mythic Tarot deck - the artwork is done by Tricia Newell. Liz did write the accompanying book with Juliet Sharman-Burke. The artwork for the Mythic Astrology cards was done by Anthea Toorchen There is a good review of the deck at http://www.wicce.com/mythica.html Regards Minderwiz |

mythic astrology
purplelady-- i've yet to really go into this one (i have a pile-up of other decks, books,etc... sound familiar???), but from a first go over it seems quite a course in astrology. it has everything needed to plot you natal, charts and all. the cards are used as a visual aid (and anyone dealing with tarot is visual) not at all divinatory-- though great for meditation/contemplation. the cards represent the signs and planets and are beautifully done. and from the bit i read, the book is going to be the introduction to astrology i've been looking for i say go for it. I like it, I like Liz's psychological approach. I also like the idea how the cards are referenced to myth, and believe the understandings of the workings of certain mythological archetypes are essential to the understanding of the self. More so now after just reading 'The Philospohers Secret Fire - a History of the Imagination.' However I have only looked through the cards and read the book, I haven't used Mythic for a reading.
