Tarot in 10 Minutes
Has anyone here ever used "Tarot in 10 Minutes", by RT Kaser? I've had the book for years and years and have always enjoyed it, if a bit too simplistic. I recently dug it out again and have done a few readings with it and it really clicks!! Even with just using a few cards rather than the entire deck. He shows you certain cards to use with certain spreads/questions, to get a more focused answer. I know it's not the ideal way to read tarot but it's GREAT for getting down to the basics. And I got a few real good readings tonight/this morning with it! (using that with my trusty Rider Waite). So, would love to hear what others think of this book, that have used it.

I got this book a few years ago. I did many of the exercises and found them interesting. Although it's definitely a "cookbook" approach and not the way I want to read Tarot in general, I found that the exercises got me to look at how the meanings of the cards adjust and adapt to the question being asked, issue being examined, etc. As I paged through the book just now, I saw that my card for "How Do Others See Me?" (Reading #12) was The Fool. I re-read the description provided in the book, and had to laugh. Quite appropriate, I would say. I originally did many of these exercises with my daughter and it was a lot of fun to do them together.

I have that book
Hi there, I am new here just made my first post in the introduction forum. Just my very small two cents worth on this book: I have had this book for a while (ok 17 years) and honestly just picked it up this week and really looked it and did some of the exercises. I found it interesting that she used numerolgy so much...but to be honest I felt a little bit sidetracked by that. I agree with the person who said it had a cookbook approach. There is no what does the card say to you...you follow a "recipe" to get your answer. But on the other hand, she gets you using your cards right away. Exercise 21 on What news I would be receiving and I remember my answer was "I await news of a swift nature, it would arrive in the mail, it would bring tears to my eyes, and it would be big and wonderful". (I could use some good news too) : ) The cards I drew were king of swords, page of swords, page of cups and XXI world. (you only choose cards from all the pages and knights and the fool, and the world and you drew cards until you drew the fool or the world) I read her answer but then wanted to know how did she come up with that but she doesn't explain. One thing I did find helpful was she has you working with smaller groups of cards, like all pentacles or all trumps etc. I really looked closer at my cards using this book, trying to figure out how her answer related to the cards I had drawn. FLIDAIS: I did the same exercise How do other people see me and my answer was Queen of Wands. I have always felt very connected to this card and recently it just keeps showing up. Amy |

leaping Sagittarians!

As a Sagittarius, I consider the Queen of Wands one of my "significators." Also as a Sagittarius, being a Fool isn't much of a leap (nor are bad puns, obviously)! ![]()

PLEASE NOTE: R T KASER'S NAME IS RICHARD. HE IS NOT A 'SHE.' Kaser is also a friend of mine, like Bill Greer. Kaser wrote a terriffic fun book, and it's still in print, which attests to it's ability to thrive. True, I never thought that it will 'teach' you tarot, but it will show you how to have a lot of fun with it, and the numerology tie-in helps a lot, too. |

Oops, I apologize. I did not have the book in front of me to refer to the authors name and made an assumption. Thanks for the correction. : ) Amy |
