Funny, when I look at my Queens and Knight together I see no winter.
The Wands look like the fiery, hot, orange heat of high summer.
The Cups like a cool blue day at the beach in summer also
The Swords, the light blues and new greens of spring. Complete with butterflies and the return of birds.
And the Pentacles are the calm autumn colors, deep greens, rusts, and golden yellows.
The Queen of Pentacles especially gives me that shifting light feeling...like when the days start getting shorter and the light takes on a different look in the evenings.
Hummm no winter for me!
I like that!

Hi ArcanoMaximo,

As Umbrae has said - the deck doesn't tell you which correspondences to use.

I use those correspondences because they are the ones that fit with me. When I do magical stuff I use the elements a lot and those are the correspondences I use.
Maybe it's because I live in the Eurpope so my correspondences relate to the Northern Hemishphere. To me North is where the cold is, East is where the Sun rises, West is where the Sun sets, South is where the equator is so for me that's Wands, fire, south.

Someone in Australia may want to put the Fire in the north - it's up to them.....

Love

Sulis xx

But those are the reasons by which i utilize mines too!
But now i understand better, i knew that in the Magic are not used the same correspondences that in Astrology and Tarot.
So i feel the cold with the Swords, in winter, even when i have no snow in my country, but all sleep there, the night of the earth, but the life comeback with the energy arising with the Sun, the fire, the Wands, from the East, specially in Spring, and coming back to the earth, the pentacles, in the West, where prepare the near "go to sleep", but not without take a shower in the warm beachs, the water of summer, in the South, more deep from the Equator, in the most female pole of the planet, specially South America in the SouthWestern, water and earth, the most "pasive" ones, pentacles and cups)
All seems logical to me, but every one has his/her own system, of course!
Thanks Sulis by the explanation !!!!

I know what you mean lark. I don't see winter either. As I said in my original post, I see the pentacles as that sort of dusky evening too! No nights for my knights but they do show a progression of the day from early morning to late evening. The colours of the sky give it all away.

Lots of innocent energy first thing in the morning which builds to a more exciting, passionate and productive energy by mid-day. Later in the day the Knight cups brings a slight slowing down of the pace and by dusky evening a winding down.

Everytime I line these Knights up I can really feel their elemental energy. The wind, heat, water and earth and I havn't really studied the other courts yet!

Hi Jewel-ry,

I've just been talking to Robin Ator about the coloured title of the Pentacle Knight. He says that he really wishes it had some sort of profound meaning but it's just a printing error. Apparantly the font on the title of The Lovers is different from the rest of the deck and that's a priniting error too.

Love Sulis xx
