Raffle for a velvet tarot bag
Inspired by Gregory's raffle, I'm going to hold one for a large-size (6"x9") silk-lined velvet tarot deck bag. The bag is hand-made (by Rose Fairy, Rev. Nancy Rose Opeka) of a gorgeous velvet in shades of brown, russet, and gray, showing autumn leaves against an autumnal background. It is lined in a gold silk which complements the colors of the bag perfectly. The bag has a gusset at the bottom so the deck will fit better. The cord is russet, with decorative beads, and is recessed in a seam 1/2" below the top of the bag, making for a neater closure in which the contrasting silk lining can be seen. The cord extends from two sides of the bag, so the bag's closure is at the center and perfectly aligned. The bag has not been used, and still has the lavender buds Nancy puts in each of her bags. The size, coloring, and pattern are perfect to store your Druidcraft, large Thoth, or Tarot of Dreams deck. It's probably a little too large for most standard-sized decks. You can see the fabric at RoseFairy's site. Go to http://www.tarotbags.com/velvet.htm. Scroll down beyond Solids to the first row of the Prints section and you'll see the fabric called "Fall Leaves". If you aren't familiar with RoseFairy's bags, they are extremely high-quality and lovingly handmade. Her fabric selection is amazing! She'll make unlined, cotton-lined, satin-lined, or silk-lined bags. I highly recommend her bags -- all of my decks are getting their very own RoseFairy bag, I'm so impressed with the quality of her work. This is a larger-sized bag of a fabric I already have in a standard size, so Nancy is making me another one in a different fabric and told me to keep the bag; I suggested giving it away on AT and she agreed. The raffle will work the same way as Gregory's. The first 78 people to enter will post a card of their choice. The raffle will close on Friday, May 19, or when all 78 cards have been selected. I'll shuffle and draw from my Tarot of Prague deck (which is the deck that I store in the smaller version of this very bag) on Saturday, May 20. If you win, you'll need to PM me your mailing address -- I'll cover the cost of postage (yes, even overseas!). In the post following this one, I'll keep a list of all cards that have been chosen. Please limit your entries to one per person. Thanks, and good luck to all! Last edited by whipsilk; 13-05-2006 at 23:08. |
