Hi, I'm new and would like to upload and use a unique avatar (I'd like to use an image of some of my own art work). I see in the FAQs that doing this is a possibility but it does not say how to do it. Do I have to wait sinced I've had too few posts and haven't passed a threshold or am I missing some vital instructions somewhere? If so, what are they?? C. Diva |

Hi Celestial Diva, To create an Avatar from your own image or scans you will need to use some image editing software such as Photoshop. In photoshop you firstly need to crop the image to a square image and then use the edit>image menu and change the image size to 40 x 40 pixels. When you have done that save the image as a jpg but make sure that the image size after compression is no bigger than 3000 bytes. Good luck. I got my partner to do it for me!!! ![]() Cariad x |

Sorry, I think you can only have your own avatar if you are a subscriber. Otherwise you have to use the stock ones. but as you get more posts, the variety of stock avatars increases. Or you could subscribe. |

Thank You Lillie! I am Blessed with a graphic designer as a partner who makes anything to do with computers seem very easy. We focused on The Empress from the "kataribe" tarot. I have never heard of it before but did a search on google and found this, and really liked it. Love Cariad Last edited by Cariad; 21-05-2006 at 04:04. |

Thanks Lillie and Cariad! I have photoshop and certainly can build a digital file to the specs you mention. I think I'll wait a while and see before I actually subscribe. So far I have found several forums of great interest and even done a little posting and asking questions on my own. Celestial Diva |

For others interested, here is the complete suite of available avatars and the post count needed for each level. Avatar list __________________ Either the Darkness alters, or something in the sight Adjusts itself to Midnight, And Life steps almost straight. ~ Emily Dickinson |
