Bohemian Cats cross stitch charts from Heaven and Earth Designs
Well, it's official! We're really happy to announce that we have licensed the excellent Heaven and Earth to make our work into cross stitch patterns. So far there are just four there (and anyone who has the Baroque Bohemian Cats' Tarot will recognise some of the characters). We will be adding - quite a lot - to the range over the summer and autumn. Heaven and Earth do beautiful work, the charts are properly done by hand so they will stitch beautifully. We're excited! (oh, banner is being redone btw - it's reminded us that we need to get some banner designs done) Aren't the charts amazing though? http://www.heavenandearthdesigns.com/MPress.html You can see the forum discussion of our designs here (hope it's okay to post this, it's not a tarot forum, it's strictly cross stitch!) http://p081.*******.com/fheavenandea...cID=5645.topic __________________ The Magic Realist Press and Baba Studio Tarot of Prague Baroque Bohemian Cats' Tarot Fairytale Tarot Fantastic Menagerie Tarot Victorian Flower Oracle Victorian Romantic Tarot Bohemian Gothic Tarot Alice Tarot - 2013 |

Congratulations Baba!! They look great on the site and are really clear and crisp pictures. Im not a cross stitcher (prefer Beading ) but they would look so wonderful - they look so intricate though! Have any been done yet? maybe we could see one completed?Im sure they'll be a huge hit! Blessings Elven x __________________ Elven - 15 months old |

Thanks - they do look great don't they. But they only just went on the site, so no, I don't think anyone will have one done in under six months! We did a lot of work to make the images more suitable for cross stitch (and Heaven and Earth chart by hand so the charts really are good) but yes, they are quite intricate. We've been asked to supply many more images - but it takes time as we do simplify and test all at low resolution (plus put them through our own cross stitch software to get a rough idea how they'll look). We'll maybe do a few much more simple close-ups in one of the batches - it's nice to offer a range from quick to LONG project! We need to get some tarot cards done too - though I somehow doubt anyone will do even the whole Major Arcana, never mind all seventy-eight LOL. Still, a few cards would be good - they would stitch beautifully I think. Edited to add - I will attempt to get going on one myself this autumn and I did wonder about adding beads - I adore tapestry (as we call cross stitch in the UK) combined with fine beading, and Czech is the land of glass beads of course. __________________ The Magic Realist Press and Baba Studio Tarot of Prague Baroque Bohemian Cats' Tarot Fairytale Tarot Fantastic Menagerie Tarot Victorian Flower Oracle Victorian Romantic Tarot Bohemian Gothic Tarot Alice Tarot - 2013 Last edited by baba-prague; 05-06-2006 at 20:39. |

Hi baba ![]() I have started beading the BBCats 8 of wands!! - The Moon & The High Priestess are next - but I have had to support the back of the card with stiff cloth as the board becomes very punctured by such tiny tiny beads. I have about 10 more beads to put on the RWS Magician, but I am doing the BBCats differently so the intricate miniscule details are not lost. When finished a fully beaded card weighs about the same as a plump tomato! Im not sure I could lift a whole deck all at once ![]() Blessings Elven x __________________ Elven - 15 months old |

Oh, elven, please show us a scan of your beadwork BBC! @baba-prague: I used to do some cross stiching but with 3 over eager kitties running around I have stopped it. I can well imagine the BBC as wonderful tapestry or some cushions. |

Oh wow, that's a LOT of detailwork, I wonder how long it would take to finish just one of them. Six months? __________________ You can give a cat a fish, and he'll eat for a day. Or you can teach a cat to fish, and he'll sit in his boat pouting all day because nobody gave him another fish. |

cross stitch
Hi, I think your crossstitches are so beautiful! I have been working on needlepointing. For me, it's too hard to do it without a colored pattern, I get so frustrated when I lose my place, but use to crossstitch years ago, until I've gotten old and senile in the brains!! __________________ Babooka |

Hi Hudson! Yes I think the more complex ones are definitely a long project - but worth it I hope. We'll also add some "quickies" I think, for those who'd like something a bit simpler. As it is, we did a lot of work on simplifying the original illustrations but there is a point beyond which we don't want to go, as some of the "lushness" could get lost. Time-permitting, we'll add quite a lot more images over the next few months, and we'll take feedback into account to see what people want. I did notice someone on the forum saying they would like to do "The Gardener" with no background - so we may produce some with very simple backgrounds, interesting possibility. Thanks Cynthia - they're good patterns I think, Heaven and Earth seem to do a lovely job on the charting so I expect the final result is beautiful. I cannot WAIT to see some of these in progress :-) I know what you mean about printed colour canvases though, I find them easier too. Well, maybe one day... and - last but not least - Elven PLEASE post some pictures. I love beadwork - used to do quite a lot but not for about ten years now :-( Please, please show us what you're doing (maybe on another thread if the mods think that's more appropriate). __________________ The Magic Realist Press and Baba Studio Tarot of Prague Baroque Bohemian Cats' Tarot Fairytale Tarot Fantastic Menagerie Tarot Victorian Flower Oracle Victorian Romantic Tarot Bohemian Gothic Tarot Alice Tarot - 2013 |

Sorry - just seen the query about that link not working. Hmm, it was working, but something may have changed - apologies. The general link to this forum (moddies - it's a cross stitch forum, not tarot!) is here: http://p081.*******.com/bheavenandearthdesigns You can find the thread under general discussion - you need to go back to the 4th June (it's an incredibly lively board - like this one - so there is masses since!) Thanks for the interest - I'm a bit scared to say anything on that board myself just yet, loads going on there. __________________ The Magic Realist Press and Baba Studio Tarot of Prague Baroque Bohemian Cats' Tarot Fairytale Tarot Fantastic Menagerie Tarot Victorian Flower Oracle Victorian Romantic Tarot Bohemian Gothic Tarot Alice Tarot - 2013 |
