gemstone chip-beads

madmoiselle

I love to make jewerly. I'm shopping around for the best price to buy gemstone chip-beads, with a nice variety. The price I last saw was around three dollars. I'm looking for the 34-36 inches, since they usually come 24-26 or 34-36. Around there ^^ I'm wondering if any-one knows a good place to buy these gemstone beads at a good price? If you have any-thing, I'd really appreciate it!

Do you make a certain style? What kind of patterns do you use?

Hi,

I'm not one of the people who's participated in this so far, but I have made several gemstone chip bracelets for myself.

Currently I'm wearing one with this pattern repeating;
4 blue agate chips
1 blue adventurine round bead
1 clear "cats' eye"

I also usually put 1-2 small quartz round beads near to the toggle & loop closure (as you need small beads there to fasten the bracelet easily) and 1 chip of moonstone (my favourite gemstone).

I'm going to be making a similar bracelt for my daughter but substituting lapis lazuli for the adventurine.

I have 2 all chip bracelets (moonstone & moonstone & hematite) but I think alternating several chips with a round bead makes a prettier bracelet.

Madmoiselle,

Where are you? I'm in Ontario (Canada) and I go to lovely bead shop in London, Ontario when I visit family as she has a wonderful selection. ( http://londonbeadery.com/ ) I occasionally get some for my local Michael's (also in the US).

In the United States, I really like Fire Mountain Gems & Beads, they often have great specials and beautiful catalogue:

(I usually try to buy Canadian if possible to avoid custom/duty charges).
