Hi Anne Marie I took a look. Now, I am usually a 'border hater'. Or at least, I don't like good artwork to be fighting against the open space around it. I always find hiding the artwork in scale pointless. But I do like what you have done. And the reason for that is it's simplicity. The artwork has a gentle tone to it's voice and I feel that these cards could give very straight and uncluttered readings. I will confess to being slightly disappointed by the minor cards though. I have no problem with pip decks as I own many Marseilles and historic tarots, but it would have been nice to change the design on the cards from 1-10 in the minor suits, rather than keeping the same token symbol. But of course, there is also the advantage that that repetition may speak quite loudly in a reading - highlighting significant amounts of cards from a specific suit of interest. But I think your deck is quite lovely. It is a nice edition to the tarot world and doesn't seem to compromise itself in any way, unlike a lot of the trite that so often gets published and chucked out to the tarot consumer. All the best with the decks success, LB |
