German deck alert - Mythen-Tarot

Aulruna

Hi all,

I received my copy of the newly published German Mythen-Tarot today and was surprised not to find it mentioned in the forum.

So, just in case you missed it, here's the German deck alert!!

It is a 79 card deck illustrated by Voenix (who has done a critically acclaimed Rune deck before); the 79th card being the Black Goddess as inspired by the Akron Tarot.
Court cards are Father, Mother, Son, Daughter, cards and suits are named after Crowley.

Each card has a myth assigned, drawing on many cultures. The companion book looks quite interesting in way of re-narrating the myth and putting it into a contemporary context, but I haven't had the time yet to dive into it more deeply.

Pics are here:

Thank you for the information. Hmmm, these pics are too small, but it seems that this is a pretty good deck.

I have already ordered it at local amazon (only one copy is left, so I felt that I must hurry, lol).

Thank-you. This looks interesting but yes, the pictures are very small. Do you know if there is anywhere to see larger scans? Sorry to be demanding!

Jewel

Do you know if there is an English version of it and the book? Inquiring minds want to know *LOL*

On the author's website there are larger scans of some cards. You can enlarge them by clicking on the picture.

Here you can see the cover of the set, the cardbox and the book cover:

Other (unfortunately also small) pictures can be seen on the publisher's website:

This deck seems to be very interesting, especially because I just love mythology. On the author's website it says that it focuses on ancient mythology (Greek & Roman, maybe Egyptian?) as well as Celtic and Norse.

Thanks Darla for stepping in! :)

There is no English version yet, but since Voenix' Power of the Runes Deck got translated eventually, I'm optimistic there will be an international release sooner or later.

If anyone's interested in a particular card, just say so and I'll post a scan.

I already loved the Power of the Runes, and can't wait to get started with the Mythen.

So has anyone worked with this deck yet? I'm curious how it reads and I'm thinking about adding it to my wishlist. I would be grateful for any insights! :)
