Just playing about ......
.... with some scissors and glue ... and then the scanner. And came up with a version of The Lovers. What do you think? LB Last edited by Little Baron; 15-12-2006 at 07:23. |

It's pretty cool. A little weirded out by them being the same person. (they are the same person, yes? don't just look very much alike?) That would lead to different sorts of interpretations, I think. But the colors are really good and I like it much better than general collage decks. Is this the beginning of the LB Tarot? Or just a fun experiment? |

Very good LB, i like how you have used the same image to represent the two Lovers, now for your next card would like you to continue with your idea. As you know i have been creating a deck and i've recently finished a few of my Major's ( The Star and Death. |

I was just messing about, really. The head, torso and legs are all from three separate pictures. I just glued them together, which is why the head appears to be a little larger. But I quite like this. There is some kind of surreal and weird feel to the image, which I like. They remind me of something from a time past - from an old and slightly creepy funfair, or a sideshow. Maybe it could be the Sideshow Tarot, since I want to continue in that colouring and use images that are put together in the same disjointed fashion. Thanks for all of your comments. I am going to try and do another one. LB |

It is kind of fun. I like the card. Although could also refer to narcissism (sp?) Looks real good. Quite different from the ones you'd made a while ago. Very different style. I like 'em both. |

Yes, he is a handsome chap. I have started to do another one. But as with things like this, it is always difficlut to get them to look as though they are both born of the same idea. I like tarot decks that you can see the same artistic handwriting weaving through the deck. I hate it when one card sticks out like a sore thumb. I was thinking of continuing to make the figures undressed. But tastefully so - more Archeon than Cosmic Tribe. I think it helps to keep the cards fresh. Also, the people I keep pulling out are quite pretty. Just their faces say something to me. I believe that we should have all shapes and sizes depicted in a deck but also, I do like these pretty boys also, hehe. Maybe I should forget rules and just see what happens. LB |

I know that my style will not impress all. And that many will see this as just an arty experiment. But I am only making them for myself. And I am actually enjoying being creative, collaging and generally playing about. And they look great printed out. Far better than on the screen. The black looks darker. The reds look richer. The browns look more rustic. So here is another one. The Magician. My dark magician. Once again, all of the bits are separate. The clothing is made up in parts. The head is cut from the box of my hair dye (LOL). The hat came from somewhere else. The table and it's bits all came from different sources. I kept the same kind of background as I wanted them to all to have some kind of uniformity. Hope you like. LB |

Just wanted to show you how the cards look together when on the table. They look a lot more convincing with their corners cut. And you can see the colours a bit more. I am actually looking forward to continuing with this. I showed a friend, who didn't look particularly impressed. But I showed another, who is a graphic designer, and she really liked it. Maybe on the graphic level. But regardless, I feel quite pleased with myself. LB |
