International Tarot Award
Following on from the previous thread (Cf ITA), this poll is to assist in determining who will be nominated from the preliminary lists. PLEASE only select three from the TOTAL list. The three who achieve the highest vote will be added to a similar selection process obtained from each individual and organisation mentioned on the ATS's Awards page. From combining these recommendations, a shortlist of actual nominees will be determined. All individuals who have been selected in the top three by at least four recommendations by the international consultative group (which includes this thread) will automatically be a nominee. Should there be less than five individuals by this process, those who receive three recommendations by the same process will also be considered. Please vote carefully, as the winner will only be selected from the NOMINEES this poll assists in naming. Last edited by jmd : 05-03-2007 at 16:35. |

I have just updated the Award page on the ATS site with the most recent inclusion of support received - thanks to all who are in various ways supporting this endeavour that seeks to have a broad and inclusive base. |

I voted...do I get a sticker? ![]() Should we not mention how we voted? It was rather tough to pick just 3....and there are so many different reasons why I would want to choose one over another....But, everyone mentioned is deserving really. One of the people I voted for (Karen M) is someone who to me exemplifies a passion for tarot and for her craft that I think is so important.....even though I do not yet own one of her creations....(I have been eyeing the Victorian Flower Oracle for ages and it shall be mine soon enough) So, I voted for her, because it is so obvious that she loves tarot and she loves the decks that she has created.

This was extremely difficult. In the end I voted for Mary Greer whom I think should win hands down. She has done a lot for Tarot. She has contributed in the most rounded way as well (historically, creatively) She opened up new doors. I also voted for Walt Amberston although I think he and his wife should qualify as one unit being they work as a team. Their school and Readers Studio is an invaluable contribution. I also voted for Chris Hadar because of his passion and his website which is truly a labor of love. Although I feel his ideas are narrow, you can not deny his (and his team) hard work with their free lessons and the website. There are so many others that I felt were just as worthy, so it was very hard to pick. I wanted to vote for Solandia, Diane Wilkes, Rachel Pollach, Robert Place, and many others who are so worthy.

So is there a page or a post somewhere that explains why each of these persons was included - what his/her contribution to the Tarot world is/was? (It was most likely posted somewhere before, but I can't find it...)
