Does mum know best?

I'm creating a new educational Tarot website.

The site is: www.tarotteachings.com

-Mind having a look-see & telling me what you think??

Only mum has looked at it so far. She thinks it's grand - but, well, she's a little biased.

Before I go further, I'd like to get some feedback from the AT experts.

Many thanks for your time/observations/advice/opinions,
V.

The site's design is lovely! I've seen a lot of sites, good and bad, and the colors/images/layout on this site---all excellent!

There is only one thing which I found a little...well...something. I wasn't confused, but I saw how one could be. The links at the very bottom of the main page almost seemed like an afterthought, since they came after the copyright info. Sometimes, on pages, you see links to similar sites which are done through the advertising or hosting service. These looked a bit like that. However, I know that you could also access the pages through the buttons at the side on top, so people wouldn't miss out on information if they got confused (at least, if you can access all the pages from the sidebar). That was the one thing.

As for the data, what I saw looked good and well-presented. I didn't read the whole site and I'm not sure I could be called an authority anyway. But what I saw looked good!

Hi Venefica,

First of all, I find the colours, the fonts, the layout to be very appealing. I just like the way the pages look, so of an 'illuminated manuscript' style.

I like the 'tarot dictionary', and could even think of additions. For example in the Book of Thoth section you could link to the free online version of the BoT. I must admit that's rather exciting and could be a real backbone reference. If you would like folks to suggest links, that could grow more. A lot for one person but I appreciate the variety of the terms.

Once again, making suggestions rather than criticisms, Gayla and the tarot Channel might make good cross-links. Gayla for example has started some excellent work on various kinds of Dignities (which I was just reading yesterday). I understand that cross-linking also increases Search Engine hits.

This is very well thought out and well laid out, imo anyway. A number of pages are just charming, like the Tarot and Crystals pages.

Personally I thought you did a good job and would encourage both links and gradual increase over time. Maybe also link and cross-reference to some of the tarot blogs here (if their owners are willing). The more the 'good material' is cross linked, the better for everyone imo.

Just a few thoughts,
Marion

Oh I just looked at the Major Arcana section. I Love it!! Did u write the interprations? Well Anyway I like how you crop out symbols and talk about them. I like how you pointed out the Uroboros on the magician, I noticed it a few years back and did not find out what exactlly it was untill my 12th grade english class "Myths and legends"

Hi Miren,
Thank you so much for your kind words.
Those links listed at the end of my home page are an option provided to me by my web host provider (SiteSell). I can opt not to use them, and as I grow the site will likely remove them. Yes, I agree - it's an unusual option.
Thanks again for taking the time to review my site.
Regards,
V.

This is precisely the look I was shooting for - I'm thrilled my conveyance is spot on.

Excellent! I was hoping for this kind of reaction to the Dictionary. As time permits, more terms will certainly be added - including links as you suggested to more excellent references (such as the BoT).

Absolutely - my focus now is to continue adding high-quality content. As the site progresses I will begin actively seeking out compatible cross-links. Yes, you are correct, quality cross-links are very favorable in the eyes of the Search Engines....very big step in the web building process.

This is my favorite page too! Took me two days to build it - but worth every minute.

Marion, thanks so much for your time and feedback. Your insight & kind words are exactly the affirmations I needed.

Regards,
V.
