MAAT Study Group- Princess of Cups

The Week of the full moon in Libra

"The full moon phase symbolizes generosity and the need to give to others. This phase implies an intuitive objective understanding of self and others."
Princess of Cups

Planetary ruler Mars

The image for the princess of Cups is a young woman on a white horse shaded by a palm branch. She is the archetypal bride, she is committed to a relationship yet still a virgin. She is the 'fair' maiden on her way to her wedding. Behind her is an empty grave. The doorway painted in lamb's blood signifies that the angel of death has passed over this household.

The menstrual blood of woman is the sign that promises life everlasting. She is eager to lay with her husband and eventually bear his children. She is the promise of new life to come. She is the fertile Earth garden ready for last summer's seeds to be planted.

Traditional tarot meaning: a blond child, and the element water.

In a Reading: This card represents a young woman who is about to or who has just gotten married. It can also represent a woman who is not legally married but who committed to a relationship. She is eager to please her man although she can become a bit too obsessive on the little things, disregarding more important issues. This card also can represent a woman about to embark on any brand new venture. She is qualified for her new position even though she lacks experience. This card indicates the beginning of the fulfillment of a life long dream and dreams about to be realized.
