Dark green turquoise
I recently bought a piece of dark green turquoise. It's kind of an ugly color, but I thought it was interesting and unique. I've heard that the color of turquoise can be green if there's a lot of copper in it, like some turquoise found in N. America, but I've never seen turquoise that dark. Anyone know if turquoise's "energy" properties change if it's color is like that? |

I have a piece of pale green turquoise (but with a 'cast' that makes me think of regular turquoise), almost like lighter jade. They said it came from some specific mine, and are reliable merchants. It has veins of a much deeper green, which implies that there could be stones entirely of the deeper green. |

I have a ring, and a pendant which my grandmother gave me...of a mid-shade of that green Turquoise in them - and they match. I love them both! I think you will enjoy this one! Also, I agree with Marion on this, as the colors might throw you for a loop...! You may need to research it just a little...?If you feel okay with the stone, then I say, go with it! You will benefit from it in one way or another I am sure. ![]() I hope this helps at least a little. ![]() StellarMyst __________________ Yes, to dance beneath the diamond sky with one hand waving free Silhouetted by the sea, circled by the circus sands With all memory and fate driven deep beneath the waves ~ Bob Dylan ~ Mr Tambourine Man |

Was it sold to you as a natural turquoise? The reason I ask is that most turquoise is naturally a soft stone and sometimes is dyed to make the color look more uniform and is frequently stabilized - bonded with a colorless agent that makes it more durable. Turquoise from different parts of the world frequently shows lighter or darker colors. __________________ "If you ask me what I came into this world to do, I will tell you: I came to live out loud." My husband is Navajo and I have seen some of the most amazing pieces, ranging in color from blues to greens. Arizona mines some of the light sky blue stones which is suppose to be the most cherished gem quality color. Unfortuantely, I have seen markets where people try to pass off dyed stones that aren't even turquoise to the tourists here in Santa Fe. It's really sad. Personally, I like the greener ones which as you mentioned have a higher copper content. It's properties are very grounding and a conduit for energy. Namaste, Robin |

I have some green turquoise. I also had this big bead that was a sort of bluey green and I put it on a bracelt. Then I did the washing up with it on. More than once. Now it is this dark green icky colour. Oh well. __________________ All things move toward their end Of that you can be sure |
