I will look into that one too. What do you like about it? __________________ "No, I think I'll just go down and have some pudding and wait for it all to turn up... It always does in the end." ~Luna Lovegood |

But I'm thrilled to see this thread pop up, as I'd been looking at these exact same decks. I kind of echo the OP's thoughts posted half a decade ago, though, about how I have my own peculiar notions of how such things should go, and none of the few decks with the theme in question quite strike me as in line enough with my own personal tastes (actually, the same goes for the Greek myth decks I've seen so far). I'll still be curious to read others' opinions, though... |

You could try Tarot of Northern Shadows. Although I still think the Norse tarot (OOP) by Clive Barett is the best one. I hope they reprint it at some point. |

Clive Barrett sells the deck directly - he currently has it on ebay and he used to sell it from his website (he may still - I haven't checked). It is the deck only, though, not the book... __________________ 'Monsters are real. And ghosts are real too. They live inside us. And sometimes, they win.' - Stephen King. I was just going to post the same thing, people keep saying the Norse and Egyptian are out of print, and NO they aren't... you've always been able to buy them from Mr. Barrett. Reasonable. |

To me, it rounds out the other decks by focusing on the jotnar/giants and is very powerful to work with. I have the Norse, Vikings, and Northern Shadows tarot decks as well and of all of them, it is my favorite. It reads very well- though the art was done by different artists and some people do not like the disjointed feel of it- I personally like it and feels that it adds to the deck- but you may want to check out some pics to see if it is something that would work for you. Each card tells a story, and the book that comes with it is informative without being overwhelming. Hope that helps.

The only Norse-themed tarot deck I own is the Giants' Tarot. At first, I wasn't sure about the multiple artists, but I think it definitely fits the theme of the giants being a diverse people. The only thing is that because it focuses on the giants specifically (who are not necessarily gods) you won't see many familiar faces from the myths. Thor appears in a couple cards, for instance, but the focus is on Loki in both those scenes. |
