Mystic Faerie ~Knight of Swords~

Hemera

This Knight is trained and disciplined and dedicated to her goal.
I came across her the other day when I was reading about the mythical Harpy!
These were originally (in Hesiod) beautiful young ladies who were swift like the wind ( one of them was called Stormwind) and who were part woman and part bird. They were winged guardians. They could have bird´s heads and a woman´s body or a woman´s body and wings (a lot like angels..)
They could punish people for their bad deeds and snatch them away from this world, but they could also give life. They were just.
Only much later did people begin to see them as monstrous and evil creatures. (That was probably when all things pagan became evil) But this card makes me think of the harpies in their original form, as beautiful guardian spirits who can fly as fast as lightning.

That's beautiful and very like the fae

I love the idea of the Harpies- so different from a medieval knight.

I like this card when it comes up in readings about standing up for beliefs or ideals, even if it's something really small. There's a part of a person's mind that connects with inner nature instead of conditioning. I feel this card is more about acting and speaking from that place than other decks.
