Spence hears the Conductor yelling "All Aboard!" in the distance. His early boarding left him plenty of time to browse through the train cars before the other passengers __________________ ***Aziah*** "You can get so confused that you'll start in to race down long wiggled roads at a break-necking pace and grind on for miles across weirdish wild space, headed, I fear, toward a most useless place... Someone asked me a fabulous question via PM and I realized it might be something other people were wondering as well as we get underway... So with the asker's permission: Quote:
Those clues I've sent to each of you are yours; your set is different from every other player's and (hopefully) tailored to your story and your character in an interesting way. The reason I established a "schedule" for the public discovery of clues was to keep the train moving along and to make sure the necessary information gets aired. But YOU decide when and how and why it gets aired. Each clue is yours to "spend" as you see fit. As long as you convey the relevant information to your fellow riders in time it CAN'T be wrong. The thing is, you want to plant it carefully, because you don't want to give away anything vital too quickly. So perhaps the lesser clues should be "spent" first. On the other hand, sold reveals will force drastic counter-reveals by other characters so it might flush out information. By the same token, if you're careful to bury your discovered clues, it won't matter how early they come. But there's a limit to how much exposition you can post before someone notices and gets suspicious. Also, whoever you're exposing by "discovering" the clue might not like you exposing them, and might retaliate in some way. Actions and reactions. And THAT'S the game... Human motivation, baby!So think about how much mileage you can get out of each clue and how it will affect the other stories unfolding. Consider which players might mean you harm, or have the means to derail your plans. And think about what you NEED to have planted so you can make your trades, etc. Because you need to get that info out there at certain points and the clock has already started ticking. Those of you who have ridden before know how FAST and crazy things get! ![]() In theory at least, the clues were DESIGNED to be planted willy nilly without any topdown management. Remember: everyone on the train is out for themselves. There can only be one winner.
