I first got a Tarot deck when I was 12 and that was because I love cats and the deck was the Cat People deck (it's also very beautiful). My parents found it and threw it away, but I got another one last year. Until recently, I haven't used it. Last week was the first time--I did a one card draw to see if I should go through with purchasing a purebred cat

. It was a very hopeful card and I later had a reading done and that also was a very strong YES.

I'm a very skeptical person and I am trying to get rid of my skepticism by delving into tarot--an area of the occult that I mistrust less than any other.

I know a couple of people who are stone-cold skeptics, who read tarot – and whom are quite good readers.

It is not the tarot that you either trust or distrust…it is the brain that operates the hands that do the shuffling that deserves to be watched with wariness.

Cards never lie…

StargazerLily, You should go by your own truth and not force yourself to believe something if it doesn't sit right with you. Please don't try to trust the Occult, trust in your own experience and understanding.

I started with Tarot because I am/was an Artist and the images on many decks were of great interest to me. Since Tarot cards are also meant to be a broad representation of life and the mind they are also a great way to explore your own experience in life.

Skepticism is a good thing.
