Christmas Cheer

CHRISTMAS CHEER OR SEASONS GREETINGS

was thinking a one sabian symbol draw - pull a symbol for ourselves to see what this holiday season has in store for us - or even how to manouver through the season with love and joy

a forerunner for the 2008 yearly draw

Mine - what do I need to know about the festive season

taken STRAIGHT from Lynda Hills sabian symbol site
http://www.sabiansymbols.com
SCORPIO 12 A BRILLIANT ASSEMBLY OF OFFICIALS AT AN OFFICIAL EMBASSY BALL

You may find this to be a time of pleasant, almost party-like atmosphere. Enjoying social situations can be rewarding on many levels. However, the conditions may be caged in protocols and rules of behavior. Look at yourself and observe whether you are being your natural self or putting on a show for others.
Political game-playing. Manners and protocol. Who knows who and what it's worth. Being able to speak everyone's language. Issues of being invited.

The Caution: Becoming affected by the habit of role-playing. Not being taught to behave in "polite society".

interesting really - this will be the first time in a LONG time I will be going to official functions for Christmas and I had thought I would be putting on a show - looks like that will happen.. and of course as always I am sure there will be political game playing.... but it is nice to know thats what to look out for

in Crystal Astrology for the above symbol the Crystal Element is Blue Diamond
Expression: Blue Diamonds are found as rare natural blue, and as created diamonds. The Blue Diamond promotes glamour, elegance and prestige in social situations.
Your natural enthusiasm and charisma are contagious; you carry yourself with noble style (gigles I can only hope so)
Affirmation: I enjoy spellbinding, elaborate and spectacular events.

well I will TRY and enjoy them IF I am invited

What will the holidays have in store for me?

LIBRA 20
A JEWISH RABBI IN A TINY ROOM FULL OF MANUSCRIPTS AND BOOKS, PERFORMING HIS DUTY

There is age old wisdom and established tradition which has survived to this day. You may need to access this knowledge though instruction or an inner search in order to deal with your situation. There are 'duties' and ceremonies that are needed to be performed, either for yourself of your community. Do what's needed with faith and reverence.

Connection with ancient sources of truth and understanding. Faith in abiding laws. Inherited wisdom. Books, manuscripts and the written laws. Ceremonies marking life's journey.

The Caution: Religious dogmatism, following the rules of "the book". Over-inflated sense of self. Distrust or hate of people from different religions, backgrounds or ethnic origins.

The only age old rite in my family is to act completely crazy. So I guess when in Rome? I find the caution alarming, though, as I have recently learned that my mother's 'church retreat' is actually taking place in a psychiatric health facility.

Hi Marina,

oh, if my memory serves me correctly, I do recall that attending festival activities like this are a little out of your comfort zone. So, I wish you all the best.

I drew: Sagittarius 19 - Pelicans, disturbed by the garbage of people, move their young to a new habitat.

Oh wow! Oh wow! Oh wow! I don't even have to read anything into this card to know what it means.

Lynda Hill's interpretation talks of an environment which is no longer secure and safe and how it may be time to move "physically, mentally, or emotionally to a new situation that will provide a better way of life with more nourishment and less danger."

My partner has just told me that he no longer wants to be in a relationship. So, the garbage has just departed. Not that that would make much difference to my Christmas, as last year, I sat on my own at home, eating some dried-out crusty piece of lasagne that I dragged from the bottom of my freezer. My children were with their father. I think this year I need to celebrate with my children, even if it is still at my home.

I hate Christmas. I find it hard to find any joy at all. Especially as my mother died late January, 2005. I always think of my last Christmas with her and feel so sad.

with love

HUGS TO YOU
the loss of your mother must bite hard at times like Christmas (birthdays and the like) There is nothing I can say to make it easier but I will try anyway
Memories are very special one blessing, tears are precious two blessings, photographs are worth their weight in gold three blessings.....
and my support (even though far away) is there with you in spirit....
hmmm
the symbol is apt....
I hope your partner moving on is a positive too..
a BIG FAT HAPPY PROSPEROUS POSITIVE!!

on another note

YES YOU ARE RIGHT I do not like these types of events in ANYWAY so I am more than grateful to be forewarned and fore armed (or dressed as the case is)
every day I look at my calender and see more and more 'dinners' I have to attend... sheesh....
but it is nothing - really - I will walk through it with 'grace'

MARINA

Hi Marina,

What a nice idea. I do hope you're able to find some pleasure and enjoyment participating at your functions.

((((((purple_scorp))))))........sending love and blessings to you and hope there will be some happiness for you during this Christmas.

My symbol

SCORPIO 16............A GIRL'S FACE BREAKING INTO A SMILE

Not surprised to see the 16 of my Tower year appear. It's been a long year of continual loss and goodbyes. It's unavoidable that this Christmas will have an aura of sadness for all the family. The first Christmas without my mother and the last one in our home of the past 25 years.

Christmas celebrates the birth of a child...........the beginning of a new order.
The old traditions can no longer be but it's important that the foundations of the new be laid with a positive attitude. That the sadness doesn't overwhelm the laughter and joy.

The crystal element from Marina's book is Albite........'fosters warm, loving relationships'.

""I am an expression of happiness""

""Never underestimate your personal power""

I have the feeling this symbol is telling me that I will have to take the responsibility for the emotional tone of our Christmas. As I've been the one hardest hit by the year's events I know my family will have some concern for how I'll be and will probably treat me with kid gloves on............all the while waiting for me to overindulge and start falling apart.
I shall have to surprise them !

HUGS FOR YOU TOO, I hope your face breaks into a smile that would be lovely -

My goodness this has been a year for soul breaking changes hey..
but as you said NEVER UNDERESTIMATE YOUR PERSONAL POWER
I hold that true as I embark on my (currently) 5 Christmas (formal) dinners...
and all the ups and downs this past year has held..

And fortunately the sabian symbols can give us a HEADS UP!

MARINA
