Psycards Study Group - 8. Work
Work-Fortunate in life to find true reward in daily grind. I dont know what else the card could mean by itself if its not talking about jobs or work related issues. Maybe things seem like a struggle, like its too much work and energy to put into it. __________________ Always searching for the answer...Not knowing the question Algún día en cualquier parte, en cualquier lugar indefectiblemente te encontrarás a ti mismo, y ésa, sólo ésa, puede ser la más feliz o la más amarga de tus horas. The "official" website for the cards, http://www.psycards.com, has images of all the cards in this deck posted, and the link for this individual card is here. The brief commentary on the site notes that this card is "about your career, the work ahead of you, your colleagues and your workplace." The images on this card are mechanical and industrial. It does convey an image of the workaday world as a place of cogs and levers, but not all workplaces need to be that way. I think it was Freud that said that the two primary tasks of the adult human were to succeed (or make our way) in love and work, so this is clearly a very important card. Interestingly enough, the cogs and wheels on this card have an echo in a much later card, The Wheel. Compared to the tarot deck, it makes us think of the Wheel of Fortune. Compared to this card, The Wheel makes us think of repetitive work. The image on this card has its own charms--almost a steampunk feel to it. __________________ Follow me, reader! I see a connection with The Wheel as well. I think of the phrase "behind the scenes" when I get this card. On a surface level, you don't always know or are aware of all the work that goes into something, you only see a finished product. I also see this card in relation to thought processes, mentally working through a problem. |

I keep doing readings on mundane things to get different cards so i can participate more on this lol and I did a reading last night asking if someone would call me and I got work and yes. With this deck I dont particularly read the cards in order more like all together at once. obviously the answer said yes but when I saw the work card I instinctively pictured the girl I was asking about working through some kind of "thing" in order to call me (personal problems, issues, fears etc.). So I thought about what Traveller said it meant in terms of being a thought process or working through something and it makes sense. The little screws all work together to get the machine to work, I believe, in order to reach its objective. so I do see it as working through some kind of thing. And it could be the inside of the brain ("have you got some screws loose up there!") so many little screws working in there hehee just some more thoughts i had to add

This card indicated to me recently that there was a person in the querent's life to be leary of and they worked with the person! So it came forward with a literal pov. Very interesting. __________________ “Serenity is not freedom from the storm, but peace amid the storm.” The Gaia Shop Get Your Goddess On! (elf) |
