Psycards Study Group - 33. The Beast

I love The Beast. I think this is a wonderfully useful card in a deck, and one of the strengths of this deck compared to a tarot deck.

This card is like a reversal, or shadow side, to every card in the deck all at once. Its presence in the deck may be why the deck's creator saw no need to create meanings for reversals. It also makes me think of the medulla, or reptilian brain, in all of us, and of the id.

I've yet to draw this card in a reading, but I can hardly wait.

ETA: I wonder what the distinction should be between the Libido and the Beast.

I get this quite a bit, and last night's appearance made me laugh for no good reason. Afterwards, I dreamt of a tiny red dragon causing havoc in a lab... come to think of it, the card appeared with the Work card and I work in a lab.


curiouser and curiouser

If you look up some of the old reading threads, one person pulled this card in relation to a bunny.

All of this is a roundabout way of saying that I wonder if the card has a broader meaning beyond our shadowside and our fears.
