how to cut crystals into smaller shapes?/crystal protection devices

I have tumblestones & would like to cut one of them into small cylinder shapes. Should I use a chisel?

I'm building 2 mini-me's, which is like a succor punch, one for myself, the other I don't know who to give to yet.

I doubt you could do it with a chisel, at least without considerable training that may not even exist anymore( handtooling of stone is rapidly becoming, if not already, a lost art). What you need is a lapidary wheel, and even then you may need some practice. Many public schools offer night classes in lapidary cutting, you may want to look into this.

Many crystals and stones do different things when you attempt to cut them. Some are more solid, others shatter. I was told that quartz shatters.

That powerwand sounds interesting. I had the FBI and Federal Marshalls on me and there wasn't a stone in the world to make me disappear to where they couldn't find me. It's better to just be good. I'de love to see some of your pieces once you have final results.. Please do show them. The ones you provided the links for are really cool.

tourmaline is the crystal. I couldn't cut it with a stanley knife - dropping it didn't work.

What's the best way to crush iron pyrite?


I'll post the photos once made.

The FBI/CIA etc. are there to make sure people have no escape. They're there to protect those in power.

update: www.tooled-up.com/SubCategory.asp?CID=9&SCID=177 (UK) sell pipe cutting tools which have a steel blade for pipes 5-30mm. I think that should work!
