Well, it shouldn't be any harder than creating a deck with pen and ink.

All through Aeclectic, if you use the search function, you can find Photoshop-related posts, and they're full of hints on ways to proceed. With Photoshop, you could draw, paint, collage... basically work any way that you can on a drawing table.

But it's no shortcut. A person still needs a good solid set of ideas to work with, and that crazy intangible stuff people call talent.

It all depends on how you want to approach it. Do you want to scan an image in and manipulate it? Or do you want to paint something? You can use photoshop but you may want to use illustrator instead or a combo of the two - all depends on your idea....

If by downloads you are referring to tutorials, yes there are numerous, and many are free. But ultimately tutorials are like using a phrase book to communicate in a foreign language. It'll get you by as a tourist, but to truly speak the language in depth, you will ultimately need to learn its structure in order to make up your own sentences. Photoshop is a powerful tool for modifying existing imagery that you scan or download, or for creating images from scratch. But it is just a tool, it does nothing without you instructing it to do so. The term "computer generated" is very misleading, as if somehow its the compuer that does the work. As far as I'm aware the most important keys on the keyboard have'nt been developed yet. "imagination" and "creativity".

Not really if you want to have many day's with thinking what if's and how's then Tarot creation can be fun, you can use all sort's of idea's in photoshop as long as you have an idea on what you want to create.

Ciro's right. I can't agree more. If you're new to Photoshop, I really wouldn't reccomend trying quite yet. It's a VERY complicated tool to use at first.

If I might ask, what kind of feel are you wanting for your deck? Are you after a photographic deck? Photo-collage? Maybe something like Ciro's decks or something like the Bohemian Gothic? If you're not sure yet, this would be a good question to start with.
