Astrological Associations - Gemini 0-10 Degrees

Gemini is represented by the Lovers. Gemini is ruled by Mercury, which is represented by the Magician. The first decan of Gemini is the 8 Swords (Jupiter in Gemini), which is associated with the King Swords.

Magician/Lovers
The Magician is something of a best friend to the Lovers, someone who will lend a helping hand (getting Tefnut to come back to Shu when she left him) but will also do whatever it takes to stop you from making an ass of yourself (getting 5 extra days added to the year so that Geb and Nuit could have children after Shu declared that they couldn't have any children during any day of the year).

Magician/King Swords
The Magician symbolizes the intellect, its ability to probe and analyze and its power to change and transform that which needs to be changed. The King is someone who is quick-witted and intellectually sharp.

Magician/9 Swords
The Magician represents the mind put to constructive use and productive thoughts. The 9 represents the mind put to destructive use and unproductive thoughts. The Magician represents the ability to change one's environment when it's found to be lacking, while the 9 represents the need to change one's environment when it's not what one wants it to be. The Magician also represents self-confidence and a belief in oneself while the 9 represents a lack of confidence and not believing in oneself.

Lovers/King Swords Shu and the King are both rulers of the Air. Both cards can highlight some negative applications of the mind - irrational decisions and a lack of reflection before acting.

Lovers/9 Swords The Lovers can represent choosing from the heart instead of with the mind. The 9 can represent lettings one's fears take control instead of using one's mind.

King Swords/9 Swords
The King represents the use of the mind. The 9 shows the tricks the mind can play on one.
