Hi Folks :)

Was just wondering what people thought of this deck as I was thinking about getting it but not sure if it's easy to read with, any views peeps? :)

Hi,

A friend of mine has it, and she never uses it because she finds it hard to read with. I can't honestly tell you whether I agree because I've never used it.
I heard you always need the book to read with it. Which is one of the reasons why I don't think I wanna buy it myself. I don't like decks which make me depend on the book.

Good luck!

I have this oracle and it's one of my most favorites although I generally don't like photorealistic decks.. I think it's quite accurate when I use it although I admit it may not be the easiest deck for a beginner.. I like celtic-themed decks and this is definitely one of them! I also like decks that portray fairies, elves, leprechauns, mermaids, unicorns.. I think it's an enchanting deck, I like it a lot..I also love the book that comes with it, I think it's detailed and well-written :)

I agree with that, the book is necessary at least in the beginning.. but this doesn't mean you can't read intuitively with it after a while (that's what I'm doing when I'm too boring to read the book!)

I love the fairy ring. It's not fluffy and it's not pretty but... it's the one I always turn to if the question is important and difficult to read about objectively. I also use the book, although less so now that I know some of the cards better. It's not hard to read with if you're prepared to rely on the book, at least in the beginning, I find I read differently with it than my other decks, but I don't mind that. The readings are very very accurate. It is brutally honest and very deep, it gives me a lot of clarity, sometimes of the painful variety. Definitely recommended if you're into that sort of thing ;)

There are a few threads about it in this subforum if you search.

I think this is a fantastic oracle and highly recommend it. You learn a lot about the faery world, both good and bad, and see images of the various creatures of the fey world that you hear about in books, legends and fairy-tales. It is a fabulous introduction to them, who to work with, who to avoid, as well as festivals. I find it very readable, but important to remember that it does fall within the oracle category and isn't tarot. Oracle readings are usually used with less cards than tarot, have a different approach, entirely, and are also wonderful for altars, festivals, meditation and pathwork. Anna Franklin is an excellent author and specialist on faeries, so I think you would be pleased with it.

It is a great oracle set. I find I can read this set intuitively and I am still new at using decks. Not a set I would recommend for someone collecting purely for the art. The artwork is very nice but it is mixed photos and I find it a little distracting at times from the message.
