Coffee, Tarot, perfume and friends - heaven!

<grin> I'm just about to leave the house to meet my personal friend Ambrosia (Perfume by Nature) for coffee, which happens fairly often. I am wearing one of her scents (Happiness, which always makes me feel chirpy), and I thought I'd surprise her by throwing my MRP decks in my handbag - I always show her one deck or another that she hasn't seen yet. So she'll get up-close with the Fairytale, the BBC and my personal favourite, the Fantastic Menagerie.

Coffee and Tarot with Ambrosia - hooray! Always my favourite thing to do! <leaves house with spring in her step and giggling with joy>

Sounds like a plan to me! :D I hope you had a lovely time.

You know, I can't think of anyone who lives that near me with whom I could do something like that. All my buds live too far away or have impossible schedules, or both. The closest I get to such an experience is when hubby and I go out to someplace new on the spur of the moment. And Tarot doesn't figure into it at all. When I do get together with friends, it's usually a group deal.

Come to think of it, all my Tarot buddies live way too far away for a simple coffee-date! Oh well...

She's not really a Tarot-buddy, she's a witch-buddy, but obviously open to Tarot, owns a couple of decks, has largely given up reading but lo-o-oves to see my decks and pull a few cards. She's a Magical Aromatherapist, has been for decades, and her perfumery grew out of that. All of her perfumes are both healing and magical, their names giving some idea of their qualities. This is a benighted end of the continent (read: it's not Western Australia) - if she weren't here, I think I'd go mad. Or worse - sane. She's an emergency room specialist nurse, so she works funny shifts - meeting up with her is always impromptu. I usually only have an hour or two's warning.

I've taken her through a selection of Visconti decks, I've shown her the Quantum and some art-decks, our more recent "batch" was erotic decks (she turned green at most of 'em), and now I can feel an MRP batch coming on.

I love it! :D But even my witch buddies are out of town. At least the ones I'm close enough with to go out with spontaneously are.

She's good value. And she'll be here tomorrow for the taping. They wanted to take footage of how I do a reading - how I lay out cards etc. The producer told me I can "do a fake reading" if privacy is an issue. I said I don't do fake, but I can easily do superficial. Ambrosia is up for it. We'll have to co-ordinate our perfumes, I think, so as not to gas the crew to death. I'll suggest it to her now.

Oh congrads and wonder what tarot decks you will use...

sounds gorgeous...wonder what tarots show up best for your taping?

Mmmm...will be wondering what Nisaba's choices for her friend will be...I look forward to pleasant thinking about this tomorrow, while sipping a white tea that I saved after yoga stretches... and savoring a guilty pleasure Sunday tarot....right now am settling tummy after a not-so-pleasant supper and off soon for my sweetie's sun-back aches...

Have a great tarot and ambrosia brewing, with all your gorgeous "witchy pleasures"---whoops, just saw Ambrosia is a name, not a nickname for your favorite soothing beverage. Okay, have a glorious time with your tarot friend and great deck choices!

Oh and I think in show biz, they say (not meaning it), "break a leg" as a kind of good luck/bad luck reverse switch....

I'll try and show off as many of my entire collection as possible. As to the reading, I'll probably set up a table with a similar-to-usual assortment of decks: a Marseilles-style deck, one of the Viscontis, a RWS clone, and a couple of miscellaneous modern decks. Then ask Ambrosia to pick the one which appeals to her, as I would ask a regular client. The reading is not what the segment is about - it's about the collection, but they do like to have a short sequence of the collectors using items in their collection practically.

Can you tell I'm sitting here in preference to scrubbing the bathroom - which the crew will obviously have to use? <promises self to get up and scrub the bathroom - some time>

Oh, and if Baba-Prague is watching, Ambrosia was very taken with all three of them! She displayed no taste at all (loved the kitty-cats) then displayed tremendous taste and adored the Fantastic Menagerie. She pulled a couple of cards from the FM for me, then said something penetrating and insightful, as she always does. For a friend she can sure make you squirm. My turn tomorrow! <makes note to use my creepiest decks and be at my most confrontational>
