Damaging new cards when shuffling

PadmeRose

A very practical deck question.

I had used the same few decks for years, they are a little worn in but in good shape. They shuffle easily. More recently I have gotten a few new decks- and 2 of them are really difficult to shuffle for some reason and I have hurt a few of the cards in the process!! :( Things like pulling up corners (the layers of paper-backing and front- pull apart. One is pretty bad-) then they catch often when I shuffle again. It's bumming me out! One deck was a little spendy, and it's really challenging to shuffle and now has a few messed up cards! I feel like I'm shuffling poorly, but my old decks only had this issue slightly and got broken in really fast, and are still easy to shuffle. So is it me, or the cardstock??

I would like to know any experience with this, or a foolproof way to shuffle difficult new cards without hurting them, AND: is there a good way to mend the damaged ones- like a thin glue?

Thank you! :)

It sounds like a card stock issue. What deck are you using?
