how would you describe the difference between an oracle deck and tarot cards? I am trying to explain it to someone but I cant quite say what I mean, and she doesnt understand. can anyone help me???

technically even the tarot is an oracle deck. for the ease of differentiating tarot from non-tarot, here we call the non-tarot 'oracles'.

a tarot deck has 78 cards. 22 major arcana. 4 suits of 14 cards each (including the page, knight, queen and king (names may vary)).

the rest are oracles.

btw...you can't always trust the box the cards come in. some oracles call themselves tarot when they are not.
