Etruscan tarot: 2 of wands

poopsie

Description in booklet: A man is meditating about the meaning of his actions.

The card shows a man seated down, reflecting and thinking about his actions. His right hand clutches on the wand before him, while the other wand is behind him.

Twos in general signify polarization, opposites, or the need to complement two possible opposing forces. It is also about duality .. past versus present, present versus future; work versus family; relationships versus career; money versus sacrifice; a life of riches or a life of modest and simple means.

Two is also about balance - making sure that one makes a decision that hopefully can synergize two opposite interests or direction.

Deep in thought, the man contemplates about something -- to hold on to the past or to move on to the future? Which is the better consequence? How can we best achieve a complementary solution? Which path should we take?

If we draw the Two of wands, we may want to reflect on these questions:

What opposing forces are we struggling with at present?

What is holding us back from moving forward?

What consequences are we bound to face if we outline the options we have? Are we wiling to take the risks? Is there a way balance our decision making process so that we can find a better third alternative rather than just be forced to choose between two options - can we create a third?

Do we need to restate or redefine our goal or the problem so that we can come up with more creative ways of dealing with the situation?

What is our own definition of "balance"? How do we know we have achieved it in the situation we are in?

I think the description fit well with the card. And he seems to examine one wand, lost in his thoughts. He won't be disturbed easily.
