Gambling

I have a friend who is planning on going to a Casino to gamble tomorrow. I had this person shuffle the cards with this in mind & leave them with me. So all i need now, is some ideas for a "spread".

I have a spread that is used to look @ the day in question re: an upcoming planned event such as a party; job interview, etc. But this spread is not really a good fit, so i'm wondering IF anyone has any ideas.

i use a 4-card spread for readings before my poker tournaments and for outlook for friends doing other gambling... (from Tarot as your Companion)

1st card .. situation / starting point (left position)
2nd card ..what NOT to do (right position)
3rd card .. what TO DO (how to) (top position)
4th card .. likely outcome (bottom position)

also I always find the bottom card of the deck to serve as
a signifier/general outlook card

very accurate readings for me.. i've tracked them in my journal..
has been accurate over 90% when compared with result..
(when advice was taken)

in large tournaments.. i've often done readings about 10-20 players

some times i do multiple passes for more detail
.. to represent .. early session, midday session and evening session

Many thanks .. i am a relative newcomer to tarot, in that altho i've been studying this art for the past few yrs. ... i haven't dabbled that much .. or rather should i say, i've only done a couple dozen readings all told. (<< Tho the ones i've done have been right-on >> both insightful & accurate!) So altho my progress has @ times been painstakingly slow, perhaps the rewards of taking ones time will ultimately pay-off ?

I guess time will tell, as i'm currently in the process of refining my notes & so haven't been handling the cards much ... tho i did promise someone a reading, hence my initial inquiry.

I'm also @ a pt. where i've been trying to ascertain what types of spreads work BEST re: answering specific questions, etc. <<< Further to which & for your info. i started a new thread in this regard on the "talk forum".

Thing is, i've never really thot in terms of using tarot to 'look for' the OUTLOOK re: a planned event/upcoming situation. As i say, i'm a bit of a newbie, so i've never really put this into practice. So your post brought the whole "outlook" thing home to me & helped me see the potential applications from this perspective. << many thanx!

I'm going to post the reading i took ..(*this will be my 1st. offering), in the "your readings" forum a lil later tonight. So if you get a chance check this out later, cuz i'd appreciate any & all feedback.

Also for your info., i originally took this reading using a short multi-purpose spread i tend to favour, tho your positional meanings can also APPLY to the reading i took. << so once again many thanx, as this approach lends itself well re: additional insight into my buddies upcoming gambling trip
